Rena I had one (1) message in Discord deleted and proceeded to make a huge, huge mess about how it was a violation of free speech and how moderators are supposed to be spam janitors and nobody should have the right to tell me not to talk about school shootings Level: 135 Posts: 2820/5390 EXP: 29075371 For next: 259634 Since: 07-22-07 Pronouns: he/him/whatever From: RSP Segment 6 Since last post: 342 days Last activity: 342 days |

02-18-10 12:11:35 AM Post #2820 Heh, it has been a while since then. (Just looking at my former writing style is ) I had found the level data, but didn't have time to play with it, and then VL-Tone just took it and ran with it. I thought yeah, no time to re-learn everything he's found.
Then when I later had spare time, I looked and thought hmm, nobody's done anything to Mario Kart yet... they're actually pretty similar. I wonder how long it'll take before we see Gamecube and Wii games being hacked? Brawl already has some simple mods. They may be a little more complex, but it's ultimately easier than N64: you have a nice filesystem (no hunting for files, figuring out what they are, and having to worry about pointers), SD and USB storage (easily load modified files - no slow, shoddy Datel hardware or overpriced copier required), LAN for debugging, and so much more CPU power and memory (meaning games aren't so heavily optimized and thus a little easier to understand and modify). Especially Wii adds these things to Gamecube games as well... if someone would just write a LAN debugger, I could have a crack at some Gamecube hacking. More powerful GPU also means you'd be able to import more detailed models, say perhaps from PS2 games... lot of models there... ____________________ why not? |
