	Frankly IMO Y2K was something to worry about.. right until everyone fixed that before it happened. 2038 will probably be the same way: some hysteria over it, but behind the scenes all our dedicated computer professionals will silently update all the systems so that they either handle the time, or just aren't negatively affected by it. Haha, wrong. Thta was never a problem; even the basics like BIOSes could handle it without failure.

Besides, most people were DURRHURR EVERYTHING ELECTRONIC IS GOING TO BLOW UP LIKE CARS AND RADIOS N SHIT... far worse than just "Oops, date rollover"

I agree with what has been said regarding the Mayans dying out before their calendar could be written beyond 2012. It would make sense that they would plan their calendars according to epochs, and work out each one closer to when the current one would finish. Considering the space of time it's been since the demise of the Mayan culture, it's not surprising that we don't have another calendar from them.
