You missed our first gold medal on home soil.

I still have the TV on and they're showing the Vancouver local news. Pandemonium.

And this is why I need cable television (even if it's not HD)

So we won... a silver in snowboard cross. And WOMEN'S snowboard cross is our specialty... bodes well, no?

4 medals after 3 full days... need to pick up the pace a little bit. But MEN'S HOCKEY starts tomorrow.

And we got gold. That was a good race.

And Shen/Zhao -- that was awesome. They totally deserve getting gold.

Men's Super Combined postponed today.

Whistler is not a good skiing venue at this time of year.

Lindsey Vonn gets gold in the downhill, awesome. Although, that crash from one of the women earlier was just unexpected and graaah. Shani Davis also got gold in the 1000m.

Today's been quite awesome, I'd say.

edit: Shaun White gets gold and Lago gets bronze.

Another silver for Canada! At least one medal a day, that's the goal.

He is the man, no doubt about it... nobody can touch him right now. There's a REASON he has a video game.

Another gold for Canada! Just watching the coverage here and they were interviewing Shani Davis, who was astounded by how patriotic our fans were. Paraphrased, he said that he thought Americans were the most patriotic, but after seeing Canadian fans... not even close.

Classy guy too. Compared to Johnny Weir, who's... in a class all his own. I've never seen a figure skater wear a tiara full of roses. I swear that our commentary team is trying to say what we all know without saying it... calling him "flamboyant", talking about "the Lady Gaga-loving Johnny Weir"... XD

I loled when they said this.

EVAN LYSACEK. GOLD. BEAT THAT RUSSIAN DUDE. Only by 1.31 points..

I was really doubting it too -- Plushenko's performance was great and I was thinking oh shit oh shit oh no we're not getting gold russia wins again and then it's like BAM second place and weeeee

Plus(h), Plushenko's kind of a snob.

edit: figure skating is insane

Evan Lysol wins!

...

My sister and Mom were angry that he beat the Russian. I was just rooting for him because he looked like Waluigi. :p

Plushenko apparently was fighting his jumps, he was at a bit of an angle for some of them and Lysacek got a lot of bonus points for doing complex stuff in the second half of his program.

*shrugs* I'd never be a figure skating judge.

And I heard he was downplaying Lysacek's performance by saying he never attempted any quads... I saw a headline to that effect earlier today.

And we choked in the women's event.

Hell, we choked today in speed skating and didn't win anything. 8 medals halfway through the Olympics and we want to finish on top... good f'n luck.

Well, he has the stamina to do that. Not like a lot of our Canadians today in long-track and short-track who sped out to an early lead then faded FAST.
