about the broken controllers - you can buy replacement box units for them the whole thing and all you have to do is open the n64 controller and plug in the new unit. another way is making metal parts of the insides. we have some, but they are not 100 exact proportion and we don't know if they will cause a long term effect to the electronics inside. the oldest is about 8 years old now , so we guess its fine. Also , make sure to tell your friends about the petition, or see if the word can be spread in other ways so the game can come out in the PC.
