It's about time! I've been speculating about a fifth generation since 2009, actually. I wonder if they'll introduce any new evolutions of older Pokémon, as well as new type combinations (I'm speculating about stuff like Steel/Poison, Electric/Grass, Bug/Psychic, and Psychic/Dark myself... =D)

Edit: Also, perhaps a Dragon/Dark legendary with Levitate... now THAT would be awesome...

The perfect example is Lucario that showed up way before gen 4 in his movie and such. (IIRC)

They could probably just make more games with the pokemon they already have. I don't see what would be the problem with that.

Zoroark seems to be a direct correlation to Lucario. Both have one pre-evolution, both are apparently the poster-children of their generation. (I mean, it's an assumption since this is the first one they are showing.)

That almost sound like the way to get shaymin in D/P/Pt without event.
You grab bike and go REALLY FAST in circles at a certain spot in town 3 then go left enter dah void and walk X (where X = BIG FUCKING NUMBER) number of steps north then use underground kit, go down then up again. Then go in another direction for X number of steps and enter some weird area that look like flower path and use the underground kit again to go down and up, then just go up and fight him.

BTW I'm not joking, this is for real.

Oh, that's uh... I forgot the word for it. But you can use it to get legendaries like Shaymin, and to sequence break the game (though that's not really much fun since you can't do much of anything if you get events out of order in the game).

Except Gamefreak still had something to do with it, especially since Bonsly and Munchlax's cries are even the same as they were in the Colosseum games

also I care about the new Ranger

that series is actually really fun and creative. It never gets old, I just wish they actually made more downloadable missions...but then again asking Nintendo to do something right with an online-supported feature is like talking to a brick wall.

Also lolwut Caterpie V5? The only Caterpie v. anything (other than Weedle, if you really want to go there) has been Wurmple, which has served its purpose from Gen. 3 onwards. Though I absolutely agree that they just need to better utilize some of the Pokemon they already have instead of constantly making new ones. There's PLENTY of other ways to draw people to the games that don't involve just adding new Pokemon. When that's all that they have to offer it becomes kind of...eh :\ I'll bite my tongue on this like I always do but I'm seriously not thrilled that they're adding even MORE when there's already plenty to make a really great story with if they tried. I don't doubt their abilities as game designers but its just disappointing that they feel like they have to do this.

I just wish they'd focus on improving the social aspects (fighting other people) and other issues (having to take 30 hours to get IVs right, then get blown away by someone with a gameshark) which make it kinda pointless outside of mindless collecting.

They should change the damn stat system to get people to stop doing shit like IVs and EVs it ruined the games, period. And I refuse to play with anyone that abuses it. Not only is it a waste of time it kills all fun there was to it.

uh. what. no, it is not a waste of time, for people who like to do competitive battling its actually a lot of fun to raise and breed Pokemon just the way you need them. Gamefreak SPECIFICALLY made it so that aspect would be contained mostly to the battle frontier in the metagame, and if they didn't support it themselves they clearly wouldn't have put in ITEMS to ASSIST this. Just because it's something you don't like to do doesn't mean its pointless. If you play the game normally you'll have pretty regular stats, anyway, so who cares? If you aren't going to do any competitive battling you probably won't even encounter those people who EV train since they'd have no interest in fighting you! If you are going to complain about people hacking or using legit EV trained Pokemon on Wi-fi...well, what did you expect.
