Well, I typically don't quite feel like I quite fit into any place upon joining. I've registered at more than just a few forums over my years on the Internet, but only a select few stand among them all as worth mentioning.

PureZC was the first community I began to active, and I grew into it over time. My typing skills were far from polished, but conversing with so many people whom were better than me—obviously—rubbed off on me over time. I stayed active for a good few years, until the community was dominated by religious/political zealots, general obnoxious behavior, etc. I was caught in a loop of indecision to remain at the community or leave (because hey, it was the first message board I fit into, and it still felt like home), constantly requesting my global moderator power be stripped when I didn't want to be around, and reimbursed whenever I wanted to get involved again. Eventually, I decided to just drop off of the staff team for good.

My second-joined community is my own, Exalted Legion, which I instated a few years post-joining PZC. Its history is somewhat of a headache and too irrelevant to this topic, but it's the place I frequent most (which is a given, considering it's my own "joint").

Thirdly—and lastly—is Jul. I know it's nothing short of common knowledge that I'm not as active a poster as the general populace, but this sort of behavior is not exclusive to here; it's just as prominent at PZC and EL, albeit far less severe with the latter (earlier parentheses etc etc i like to use "etc" a lot etc).

To elaborate on my habits: PZC has always been known for a strict upkeep of its rules. For example, a simple reply in pertinence to one bit of another's reply in a topic that doesn't totally pertain to the actual thread's subject would warrant an actual warning. Over time, and what with being part of the staff team, I had to adjust myself to keep up an image. In short, things were strict when it came to post "quality".

What with doing my best to avoid small, only-somewhat-off-topic replies, and growing disinterest of posting after accumulating thousands of posts, I regressed to more of a reader than a complete participator.

Although I'm mostly a reader, I have been lightening up in terms of being adverse to making small, generalized replies (all due to the laid-back atmosphere of this community). Perhaps it'll be a good thing if I continue?
