Edited the title.

Saw this tonight, blinked in disbelief. Announced TODAY, coming out MONDAY, North American release first.

It's about time we got a new Blaster Master, at least.

Hope it's good although given how there's only two days until it comes out... that's all we can do. Hope.

God, this is awesome. Hopefully it holds the same spirit. The story doesn't seem the same as the original, and for some reason, that ridiculous intro scene really struck me as a kid.

The series actually took the name and story of Blaster Master in Japan at a point. [trope]SoYeah[/trope]. Though it was only for the last game I think.

Whoa! Now THIS is worthy of being my first wiiware purchase. I had forgotten how bad ass this game was for the NES. Can't say I'm blown away from the remade music in the video, but I am sure the overall soundtrack retains the original's charm. Also, I hope the game is long and I don't beat it in a day like other wiiware games I've played at friends' house.

It's out, trying it before bed.

Looked around for some impressions... more positive than negative, I'd say 80% positive. Apparently the game's laid out in more of a Metroidvania fashion (and thankfully there's a map), and aside from the normal upgrades there's also health/energy upgrades hidden as well. Only gripes that I'm seeing are that the controls take a little bit of time to get used to and are a bit awkward; no Classic Controller support sadly.

No motion controls, though.

Then again, it's Blaster Master. It's MEANT for a NES layout.
