It's not even the FOUR SECONDS that matter. Really, that would only apply to the first two points I made. Those things are probably the details most likely to change over the course of the next couple of months. The other points, however, focus on issues we've faced in the past that SEGA just can't seem to pull their heads out of their asses over. Also the mere thought of a homing attack in a classic style sonic game just drives me nuts. There is no way I'm waiting for more details to come out to protest that. That is something that needs to be dealt with now.

Except Sonic and Knuckles had a good concept that let you play Knuckles in Sonic 2 as well.

Which, in turn, could count as extra DLC if you look at it that way.

This right here though pretty much makes it a dead giveaway you aren't getting a full game. At least Sonic 3 was good as a standalone.

Considering I'm not a Sonic purist and only within the last year or so actually played and beat 2 and 3 (actually, I didn't beat 2, Wing Fortress kills me every time) I've got a pretty open mind about it. As long as I have fun playing it and still get to go fast, I'll be happy.

Actually, I was more hyped for Sonic Advance 3 when it came out for the GBA.

The way Sega is anymore...they've got a lot to prove to me to show that Sonic 4 is actually worth my time for a 2D plat.

That said, Advance 2 or 3 are really good if you've never taken the time.

for a game of this caliber you can have it 8 zones, then have add-on levels. I'd be fine with that. To limit what levels are going to be available from the start as a planned strategy really grinds my gears.

GTA IV is a good example on how episodic content should work. You have the game, complete from the start. However, if you want more, you can download the extra content and get more from the game. They aren't necessary to finish the game itself, but they add to it without becoming mandatory.

However, putting Episode 1 pretty much tells me "Hey, we have this game with a few levels, but we have a lot more planned and instead of releasing it all at once we are going to give the rest to you later on and charge you for it."

That's my main gripe.

I'm not really all that interested in Sonic games (I never have been) but I'll most likely try it if I can emulate the Wii version. It looks good from the few seconds in that trailer, but I can't really give a solid opinion right now.

This is a problem with downloadable content in general. The "Here, have half a game for full price then we'll give you the rest for even more" mentality is horrible.

Especially if said DLC is available from Day 1. Release it a few months down the road as bonus features and that's okay. Day 1 is just greedy.

Instead of "HEY WE HOLD STUFF BACK FOR MORE MONEY LOL".

Even worse when you only download a little crack to unlock what's already on your disc.
