What is the longest song or remix you guys have listened to? For me, it is the 18-minute remix of Ayumi Hamasaki's super megamix from her Euromix album. As far as I can recall, I haven't listened to anything longer.

I listen to Dream Theater, so there's quite a few:
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (45 minutes)
Octavarium (24 minutes)
In The Presence of Enemy (pt1 and 2 amount to about 26 minutes)
A Change of Seasons (23 minutes)
The Ministry of Lost Souls (15 minutes)


+ quite a few above the 10 minutes mark

Stuff from other bands:
Rush - 2112 (20 minutes)
Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Tragedy (a bit above the 20 minutes mark)
Gamma Ray - Heading for Tomorrow (about 15 minutes)
Messugah - Elastic (15 minutes)
Shadow Gallery - The Queen of the City of Ice (17 minutes)
Shadow Gallery - First Light (34 minutes)


And that's more or less what's 15 minutes and up on my playlist. I've heard quite a few more, and most of the stuff I listen to is 10+ minutes anyway.

I am very happy.
I use the Kirby medleys as timers, basically becouse of knowing the time each song kicks in.

I mention those becouse I listen to them extremelly often. As in, "at least once a day" often.

Otherwise I've listened to longer songs, both medleys and original.

Wow, I didn't realize that there were so many songs/remixes that were longer than 10 minutes! You would definitely have to be in the right mood to continuous listen to the same tune for 45 minutes. Remixes and songs that combine symphonic (orchestral) sections and dance is something that I could listen to for 45 minutes straight that's for sure. Andy Blueman's remixes and also Alex Morph's remixes come to mind right now.

I think the longest song I have is "The Poet and the Pendulum" by Nightwish which is about 14 minutes, but I know that this isn't a remix. Of course, I do have a remix of this song lying around somewhere too that is probably longer, but I never really listen to it. I'm just typically not much of a remix fan.

I also have some albums that are made of different tracks, but really, the whole album is meant to be listened to as a whole, as if it were one big song in many parts. This is how Enigma described their earlier work, and I typically tend to throw concept albums into this category as well depending on how they are done. There are also songs like Kamelot's Elizabeth, which is in 3 parts, each part has its own track, and each part is supposed to be its own song. But seriously, it is really just one song, and that is the only way you can really listen to it. They even perform it as one song whenever it is live. Treating this as one song I think its 11 minutes.

Most of the stuff I listen to tends to be between 7 and 14 minutes.

I like oldies, so probably "American Pie" by Don McLean. It clocks in at 8:33.

Most songs from the '50s, '60s, and early '70s are really short, like 2:15 is about average
