Oh God, I tend to forget my name for several seconds as well. Someone may come up and ask me, "What's your name?", I'll sit there with a dumbass look in my face for a split second or so, then say "Oh yeah, it's Ingrid."

That'll probably go against me when I'm pulled over by a cop for whatever reason.

I have a horrible memory. Which does not improve when I'm drinking. I have forgotten so many people's names that I've met at the bar.

I tend to have a problem remembering people's names too, even if I try to commit them to memory (unless I'm lucky)

I also have managed to briefly forget things like my phone number and whatnot, although it hasn't really caused me any serious trouble in the past.

There was once a time when I met some guys at the bar on Thursday. I completely forgot them and the fact that they invited me to their party on Friday. So when they showed up on Saturday and asked me where I was on Friday, I had no idea who they were, let alone why I didn't go to their party.

The first time, very much so. The second time, not really.

Something that I often do is enter a room, do something completely different within the room than what I had originally planned on doing when I entered the room, leave the room and then remember 10 seconds later that I never did what I was supposed to do.

Other than that I'm usually pretty good at remembering things. If I'm told do something at a certain time or finish something by a certain date I usually won't forget about it.

Dude, I'm just the opposite. I remember better when I'm drunk. xD

Terrible with "famous people" because I don't watch TV much but mostly because I forget them straight away.

I'm like that too. I don't read the tabloids and watch the dopey celebrity news. When I watch a movie, I identify each character by the character's in-movie name and don't generally care who the actor happens to be. I get annoyed when people identify the characters by the actors' names. He's not Mark Hamill, he's Luke Skywalker.

Singers I'm a bit better with because I compile music charts, mostly out of tradition from the years gone by when I listened to current music. Now it's more because I'm expected to compile them. It's like Casey Kasem when he got older, he didn't listen to the songs anymore but still counted them down

I often grab plates instead of cups and vice versa, creating awkward moments of 'That isn't what I wanted!'

I also don't remember celebrities well at all--instead I create bizarre mix-and-mash names and cause anyone who tries to ask me to 'identify the actor' to burst out laughing as apparently, my memory center has a sense of humor and likes to mess up all the names.

Ugh, I forget stuff ALL THE TIME.

Like, I'm terrible at remembering faces, so I can't match names to faces easily. The weirdest thing, though, is that I have no trouble remembering places I've been to. Hell, I could probably get around places in Florida and Connecticut and stuff that I haven't been to in years if I were to go back to those places.

If I get frustrated enough that I'm not getting enough practice in Japanese, I will quit studying for a couple of days. When I go back to my studies I start to forget the simple kanji that I have already learned and should come second nature by now.

Also, unless I'm in contact with certain people all the time, I will remember your face but forget your name. This has happened to me a few times.
