Good luck on getting that wavebird. Last I checked, they were hard to get a hold of.

Spiffy.

I think that's your best bet and those are pretty awesome.

My home forum makes Jul look insanely active.

Yes, but that one was obviously active at one time.

Sierra Planet was never very active, even when I posted at their old board in 2004. I guess there aren't that many fans of Sierra adventure games, or they're older or all scattered.

I haven't heard of Sierra in AGES actually.

I have King's Quest 8 and Caeser 3 around here somewhere... Caeser 3 doesn't run on anything past Windows 98 though.

Oh, right.

Yeah, VGF was once on its way to rival IGN itself.

Then the webmaster stopped paying the staff and vanished, leaving an empty husk.

I just don't have time for other message boards. I'll post here, of course, above the rest, but that's about it.

The forum of the site that I write for is dead and I haven't even checked it in a week or so.

Wait...paid staff positions?

I stopped going to Project Aon because Jul took up my time. Sierra Planet is easy for me to juggle with Jul because it's so inactive.

I go to here, VGF, a Super Smash esque board, run my own board, and also once went to Sonic Retro.

Since I joined the internet back in 1998, Message boards are in my blood. Part of the reason I dislike Twitter and co. is they're all wannabe message boards to me.

I think I have all the King's Quest games. I should give them a chance when I have the time.

I prefer boards because I grew up with them. I prefer their topicality and self-containedness over these mega-networks of "Meet anyone in the universe!" and I have the impression that they're more for people knowing or meeting each other in RL. I don't want anyone I know in Detroit to discover my online persona.

I grew up on the internet spriting, message boarding, RPing, and gaming.

I've got a lot of experience under my belt being only 16 >.>

I remember being on Netscape and dialup, in fact.

I RP'ed a lot on AOL before I joined message boards.

I prefer boards because I grew up with them.

Main reason why I stick around. I've really grown since 2001 and this (and Acmlm's) have helped with that.

I remember Netscape and dialup, but my parents stuck with both of them for longer than most people.

I started out surfing the Web, then got into boards, and then it was months before I tried AIM and IRC.

First used Earthlink and Dialup and Netscape Navigator 3.0 in 1998. I was only 9 years old at the time. I used Windows 3.1.

VGF was my first online community, and I will be on my 10 year anniversary there sometime this April. It's also the first community I've been in where a well known member has actually died, though it was of a disease rather than old age.

Indeed, I don't even care much for the Windows 95 'classic' scheme and sometimes want the eye-searing white of Windows 3.1 to come back...

Acmlm's and Jul have felt more like home than anywhere I've physically lived

My parents had Internet in 1996 through a local provider (MicroAge). I would surf the Web a bit, but I didn't do it a lot until 2001 when I could surf by myself. I got addicted pretty quickly, to the point where my mom would have to kick me off to use the phone that shared our single phone line.
