I'm trying not to play as many CD-ROM games on my old Performa, especially since the CD drive seems to have problems reading data CDs sometimes (yet, oddly enough, music CDs work just fine )

Still, I'm playing a lot of old Mac games on it that don't require the disc, like Spin Doctor, Civilization II, and SimCity 2000

I've been playing a lot of NES games lately:

  • Castlevania 3. It's the only game out of 1-4+Bloodlines that I haven't beaten. It's hard. But I'm also persistent.
  • Tetris. Including the first person version, but mostly just the plain NES version. After like 18 years of hating Tetris suddenly I am an addict.
  • Kirby's Adventure. I forgot how pathetically easy this game is. I played it subconsciously while I was Skyping and actually made it a quarter of the way through the game without even thinking about it. I might as well finish it.

I've started playing Spore a lot recently. The collector in me wants me to stop and completely scan every single planet I come across, but I realized it's holding me back, so I made a mad rush for the center of the galaxy and have finally confronted the Grox. As soon as I conquer them (how?) and reach the center of the galaxy, I'll finally be able to let myself start another planet file.

Aquaria. It's basically Metroid in water! And a lot slower-paced. But kind of fun.

Took me a half-epiphany to actually play the damn thing, though. Then I realized I shouldn't give a shit what others think (and who fucking cares, anyway) and then played it. And it was good.

This game has endless possibilities for challenges. Don't you dare say it is "pathetically easy".

That's it. Now I want to make a hard mode of it. Even if by Lua.
