Just got the word that we're moving on the 29th of this month. We were going to move out on the 19th. Thank goodness I started to pack early.

They left the door to our new apartment unlock (they're cleaning it) so we went inside and took a look.



It's nice!! I can't wait!

But the ledge...if you lean over, you can look down to the bottom of the stairs. I swear, I'm going to try to put stuff on that ledge to keep the cats off of it! There's another ledge that they can have that's safer.

Glad to hear it's good. Yeah, putting some stuff up to keep the cats off the ledge probably will help.

Just make sure they don't do what my cat tried (and thankfully succeeded) to do, which is grapple around anything in their way, even if it means hanging off the ledge to do so.

Better idea. Leave the stuff OFF that ledge, so the cats won't knock the stuff down the stairs. Makes cleanup alot easier.

My apartment is only 2 rooms, and I don't use most of the space (it's a relic from the days when my dad lived with me).

In Germany I had 1 tiny room and had to share an even tinier kitchen and bathroom.

I should be making the video of the place sometime today.

In the meantime, my cats on the stairs. Tidus, the brown one, is still a bit agitated. You can see that his ear is a bit pinkish. More so than usual. This was a day or so after moving in.

Dunno if you tried, but if you haven't, put butter on his paws. For some reason, it helps cats adjust to newer homes (we used this on our cat once after moving, and he went from being visibly agitated to being quite calm and comfortable.)

When my parents took the kitty to their other home around Xmas 2008, she went nuts. All night she'd make noise and climb all over my bed. Usually she ignores me at her usual home.

I need to remember this for next time, thank you. I did notice that both their paws were brighter than usual.

I can see them sliding around the tile floor in the kitchen and bathroom because of the butter.
