We had something like that in 5th grade... It was this choir thing we all had to do for about an hour every Thursday towards the end of the day.

I remember, though, that we had some dancing (read: ass spinning/crashing into chairs) periods instead of choir as a treat of a sort.

Well, we had to sing in elementary school for the annual school concerts, but other than that... no "forced" singing.

Who would be cruel enough to put that on Youtube?

My 7th-grade English teacher had us recite lists of the English "to be" and helping verbs and a bunch of prepositions at the beginning of the class period. Aboard about above across after against along among around at... And we ended with "And these are our prepositions" sung to "A partridge in a pear tree". Similarly with the helping verbs.

I remember one time in elementary school I ad bronchitis and the bat-shit crazy fruit of a music teacher made me sing a solo...not only did it hurt but it was so humiliating. From that day onward I have hated music teachers.

All grades in elementury school had to sing when I was there. I actually enjoyed it, and I had some solos / duets. But, after awhile I started to get tired of it. Now, I do little singing at all.

Teachers who do that kind of shit are sick.

One PE teacher, so I've heard, made a student with a heart condition run, and the student actually died because of it.

My friend had to do that in grade 7. At least, she had songs to listen to. Bizarre, I know.

Wasn't that on the news recently?

I also have another story on the subject of stupid school projects, my 12th grade AP English teacher made us make a "soundtrack" to a novel. To clarify, we had to go through our music libraries and pick songs that would apply to "The Alchemist" and write why they deserve to be the soundtrack. I was like, "Excuse me, do I have the wrong class? I was under the impression this was AP English."

(I'm going to quote this post in therapy one day.)

I'm also taking AP English and it pretty much works around singing and constant oral reports

Songs I had to sing in Fight Club my elementary school:

YMCA theme, Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer, and a Frank Sinatra song about goats destroying rubber trees.

Yeah. These days, however, my singing is a weapon, as I can sing in a freaky screech voice (think Ridley screech range) and basically scare people away with it.
