Interesting, though I'd like to see how well it handles actual gameplay instead of just walking around and cinematics. I noticed the player never tried to actually use a weapon.

Nonetheless, that takes a lot of determination and effort, and I applaud this.

Indeed, I remember I got flamed and attacked by the elitists in GBATemp that the idea of porting Pokemon Emerald to the Pokemon Platinum engine and have it run on a DS was "unpossible".

At the windmill, the player goes into first-person with the bow, but doesn't fire any arrows. Too bad, becouse Samus firing arrows from her arm cannon would be awesome.

It's pretty sleek conversion, but people really struggle with the game's model format. I'm sure that some of the better Z64 hackers would/did laugh at it. I just wonder how the textures would show up on a console.

Wawawareya? One can always try low-level plugins to have an idea. It's a cool hack, but as I've stated in IRC it wouldn't hurt to include in the description the tools he used (spinout importer), judging by the description it sounds like he has done everything when this is clearly not the case.

Sorry for being rantish (I've had my share with the Zelda hacking "community" ).

xdaniel's OZMAV can export some models in the game to the .obj format (with some problems though), but probably not animated models.

Well, the low-level plugin doesn't limit its capabilities. It can handle things that the N64 wouldn't be able to, and the way it handles textures might not work exactly the same way if an opcode is misformed.

There are problems with dumping to .obj files in the most recent revisions of the program, tho - use r76 for the time being. And yeah, since it can only load maps, it can only export those.
