But for some reason I have trouble eating it.

It's like my stomach isn't awake for an hour or so after I wake up. When I try to eat too early, I kinda have to choke it down and I eat slowly, which has even caused me to miss the bus.

Is anyone else like this? Back in my high school days I could eat breakfast just fine, but I'd usually skip eating at school and wait until I got home. I think years of bad experiences in the elementary school cafeterias caused that.

It's the same way for me too, actually. I'm not usually hungry when I first wake up, and usually stay that way for hours. I don't know about you, but for me, I think it might have something to do with the stress of waking up on time upsetting my stomach and ruining my appetite.

Paulguy's Post configuration
I like breakfast but I have similar problems. I think it helps to mostly just have bread based products, like toast, bagels, etc. Citrus fruit is usually recommended as "part of a balanced breakfast", but I find it too harsh in the morning. Milk is usually OK as long as I don't have too much too early. Makes me sick and have really gross gas.

Depending on the meal and what I do afterwards. If I eat waffles and do nothing afterwards, I get a wierd feeling. If I eat toast and do nothing, I can handle it more. I guess it's just one of those odd little things...

I married into a Hawaiian family. If I miss a meal during the day then there's something wrong with me. I have to eat breakfast or else I feel tired and groggy all morning.

My wife doesn't usually eat breakfast thought. Half of the time its because she's pregnant (at least for the past 7 months anyway) and the other half is because she sleep's in till 9 or 10am sometimes.

If I'm woken up very early then I can't eat breakfast. But if I wake myself up, I can eat it. It's really strange.

I almost always wake up with massive hunger and I eat huge bowls of corn flakes, sometimes even rice or fries with fried eggs.

I don't have problems with breakfast, although sometimes I just grab a small breakfast, like a NutriGrain bar and a glass of soy milk, and end up feeling fine anyway

I usually have around an hour and a half to get ready for work in the morning, but I try to have a good breakfast every morning

My normal breakfast routine is about 20 pieces of cereal with milk and a glass of orange juice. I sometimes find it hard to eat breakfast since I'm usually still half asleep while I'm sitting at the table although if I don't eat it my stomach is going to be angry at me later .

I normally can't stand cereal and have to have something like eggs and a glass of milk for breakfast. For some reason, eating cereal just makes me feel like crap.

I also don't mind waffles, but I can't stand pancakes. Something about them just makes me sick to my stomach.

I get really nauseous with certain foods in the morning, which is elevated even further if I happened to take medicine before that. Seriously. One time I had a nausea-inducing breakfast, took my vitamins and medicine, and in twenty minutes I had my face in the toilet bowl, waiting to vomit. Never did, but dear God that was terrible.

I can't eat the second I wake up... it depends. If I'm working, I can eat around 10-15 minutes after I wake up. If I'm off, I might wait half an hour or even an hour before breakfast. All depends on my mood.

I love eating breakfast. Unfortunately I'm very rarely ever awake before 11 AM so it's always more like brunch or lunch. Oh well.

NutriGrain bar

Those are so goddamn good.

Oddly enough, even with a hearty breakfast and all (about 7AM), by about 3rd period (10-11AM), I get insanely hungry.

That is when I scarf down the NutriGrain bar I brought and then I feel alive again.

Same kinda goes with me. It's the syrup, though. ...But I guess that's fairly common?

Supakitsune's post
For me, I find that I can eat breakfast just fine regardless of what sort of food it is.
However, if it's waffles or pancakes, I have to wash down those with milk, then chase it down with my pill and a big glass of water. If I drink my pill with the milk and waffles/pancakes, or I don't have the water, I end up with my mouth glued shut until around lunchtime, and the worst nausea imaginable without being flat-out vomiting.

Ugh.
