What are some good options for making flowcharts? Word doesn't really work for me, and I tried this "SmartDraw" suite and it was absolutely pathetic.

Does anyone have some good software they know of for making flowcharts?

Notepad works fine for me...

Then again, I have only made simpler ones.

I meant a graphical "You-can-print-this-out-and-hand-it-in" style flowchart.

I've used Microsoft Visio for school, but that's a commercial program. There is, however, a free trial if you only need it for a short time. It's 60 days.

Hmmm, did you get that error right on that page, or did you enter your Windows Live ID and such? Maybe it's not available in Canada for some lame reason

Clicked the big green "Download Trial" button, got the error message on the next page.

Could be because I'm at university.

A professor of mine suggested a program called Freemind, which is more meant for "Mindmapping". I don't know if it will serve your needs or not.

Dia - For Windows

I've used this for multiple school assignments (only the Linux version). Very basic but gets the job done.

I'd have suggested Visio as well. The trial is currently unavailable because Microsoft has to remove the OpenXML format stuff from Office before they can offer it again.

Black_Lord your layout is covering the quote button for Bagel's post >>

And yeah, that XML thing is a pain in the ass. I really hope MS wins the appeal.

I already have 2K pro.

That said, I found a Visio 2k7 download on CNet. Really nice software
