Well, back to Platinum, I've caught a lot of other Pokemon and transferred a lot of Pokemon I had in Emerald (almost every single one in their first state) and now I'm training them all to evolve them...

This morning, I started playing as many of the games I got for my birthday/Christmas that I hadn't touched yet before I head back tomorrow afternoon. Here's my report:

Sonic and the Black Knight: I hoped it would it at least be as good as Secret Rings. I picked it up first in hopes that would be a nice way to start the morning. I admit, I love the papery, cartoony style of the menus and cutscenes. And the environments are certainly pretty. And there's something charming about seeing the well-known Sonic characters put into the roles of classic legendary characters like Sir Lancelot. But after that, things go downhill. While there are tutorials in the game, there is a great lack of direction. Often hints are very vague, late, or otherwise unhelpful. It never tells you that you can perform a homing attack, which I discovered by accident several hours into the game. This makes boss fights often frustrating, causing you to die several times before you figure out what you're supposed to do. I'm also bothered by Arthur. He is very large and dark and heavily-plated, certainly an imposing figure. But he has a goofy-looking cape made of several brightly glowing purple strips stuck together. And his horse can fly while galloping for no apparent reason. And he named his sword "Deathscaliber". Did I mention all the townspeople look like freaky little alien gnomes? They creep me out with all their random-clattering-sticks voices. I gave up after dying repeatedly to Arthur. If you're a Sonic fan and like Arthurian legend... I recommend inviting over a friend or two for a painful MST3K experience.

Wii Music: A simple and amusing game to play with family. I am very musically challenged, so most of the time playing with my brother was spent laughing at how bad we were. We were both on the floor in tears with a particular tuba performance by my bro. We apparently unlocked all the instruments, music, and stages, but I'm pretty sure there are still three songs and stages to unlock. In fact, I'm very sure, because we don't even have the Super Mario Bros. theme yet. If you want a nice, charming, musical way to spend an afternoon, I recommend this game. I really need to work on my rhythm...

Rabbids Go Home: I wasn't expecting much, but what I got was a hilarious, insane, immature, wacky platformer where your mission is to pretty much cause pure chaos as you pick up everything small enough to stuff in a shopping cart, or bigger. The Rabbids never fail to amuse me with their silly antics. I made it past the first set of levels, and wish I could play more. I'm a little disappointed about the lack of DAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH, though. (So far, I've only seen it on the lose-a-life screen, which I only encountered once towards the end of playtime.) If you want a crazy unique 3D platformer, pick this up.

I recently installed some of my old favourites, like Age of Empires 1 and 2, Civilization III Complete, RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2, Stronghold Crusader and SimCity 4

I was actually surprised that RCT1 works on Windows 7, although I can't use fullscreen... but I can live with that

I have AOE2, but I've never played it online. The multiplayer of AOE2 seems to be to be incredibly fast-paced and assumes knowledge of the various keyboard shortcuts.

I started Kirby Super Star Ultra today I had played the SNES version but didn't finish it.

Are you using Windows 7? For some reason Prelude won't run on my machine. The installation worked flawlessly and Steam sees it, but then I get a HL2.exe error.
