Which type of connection do you prefer for your game consoles?

I actually used RF as my main connection until 2006, since that was all my TV supported... I actually strung my RF adapters together, having them run come after my VCR (later VCR/DVD), so I could record my gameplay onto VHS tapes

However, when I moved, I finally bought a new, but still a CRT, TV with RCA inputs, and I was amazed at how much better my consoles looked with composite video

A few years later, I upgraded to my first HDTV, giving me the option of component, S-Video, and HDMI for the first time... the first console I actually used component with was the Wii (but I keep a composite cable around if I want to move the Wii to my older TV)

When I get a PS3, I'll definitely use HDMI for it, because I want to play my PS3 games in high-def

(However, I still use RF for many older consoles... since I don't have composite or S-Video cables for them )

HDMI and/or componet.

I hate RF. I still ahve to use one when I want to play on my NES/Genesis/Saturn.

#52
The highest available (from wires and plugs), of course

In my case, that'd be component (on my 27" LCD I got 2 years ago), which I've only used for PlayStation 2 and 3 so far, but it's still a definite improvement over composite

I was stuck on RF the whole time until the N64 (which only had composite), but didn't mind it

I still only have composite cables for PS2 and Dreamcast... although I'd like to upgrade to S-Video or component for those consoles eventually

I want to upgrade a N64 to DVI, but that will have to wait until I have something with DVI input.

Regarding the actual thread topic, I'll use whichever connector is the best supported on both ends, whenever possible.

Composite for NES through N64, and Component w/ Composite Audio for the Wii.

Paulguy's Post configuration
Highest available. But hdmi is very nice, since my television is digital, so doesn't require any conversion, and loss. Component and composite are generally fine though. RF switch just sucks though.

RF is bad.

My 32" has the PS3 hooked up via HDMI, PS2 by component (though composite for some games because the cable doesn't upconvert games like Phantom Brave properly), and Gamecube by RF because I've no choice on the adaptor and haven't really taken the time to find one that works otherwise yet. That and the GC collects dust.

Also have the comp plugged into the 32" as monitor 3.

Our N64 and Gamecube use RF, the Wii uses Composite, our Xbox and DVD player use Component, and our satellite receiver uses HDMI. Pretty much covers everything.

HDMI for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Compenent for the Wii.

Been that way since I've joined the HD movement... (couple years ago).

Well, it's either slightly fuzzy with RF or only one speaker because my TV only has one audio input port for composite cables.

(assuming I'm thinking of the right thing here, anyway.)

So really, it's not that great either way. I usually use composite simply because it's easier to switch systems that way, and most of my systems use that.
