I use firefox, I like to tweak and change my broswer. I do not like a bunch of features pre-installed and cluttered menus (So I hack firefox's menus ).

Cookie-Safe, No-Script, and adblock+ are all very nice.

So what about the rest of you on the interweb, what brand is your surfboard?

Opera. Ludicrously fast core, a goodly number of features built in with an extreme amount of customization possibilities.

That and most of those can actually be disabled (hint: about:config), and it generally runs incredibly fast on whatever system I run it on.

I tend to use firefox for normal browsing, various others to experiment or on an as-needed basis.

Opera. I only use firefox on a few occasions, because I don't like the way Opera Does it's Torrents, and it's hard to open them with UTorrent, through Opera.

Daily Cycle II ~ -2415
I ran Opera smoothly on a 300MHz with 64M RAM.

Firefox (or Phoenix, as it was back then) crashed spectacularly and fucked over all my file extensions.

This is a real toughie.

Prefrences -> Advanced -> Programs -> [Show files opened with Opera] -> Delete ".torrent"

Opera, thanks to Xk. It's way faster, its interface is simpler, no crazy extension madness, and MOUSE GESTURES.

Oh, did I mention it takes a split-second to change tabs, while it takes ~0.5-1 second?

Also. Userjs.

Firefox here. I've tried it and Opera, and Opera doesn't seem to run as well for me for some reason. :/

And Opera overheats my laptop

I use Firefox, mainly because I'm used to it and already have it configured the way I want. I'd probably use Opera if I didn't use Firefox. I don't necessarily see Firefox as better than Opera, but switching would mean re-configuring everything the way I like it.

Firefox, for customization mainly, and I'm used to it. Though with my recent crash, I'm forced to go to 2.0, since nothing supports 1.5 anymore, this makes me sad. Mainly because I lost the Marquee tag, as evidenced in general chat.

Simplicity v1.1
I don't think anyone on this forum is going to be caught dead with Internet Explorer yet it's probably the most used browser out there on the Internet still because a lot of people would rather not change over to something that already works for them. Heck I installed Firefox (which I use, see poll) on my father/stepmother's comp and they don't like it because it's something they're not used to.

FF works for me though. A lot easier on me having to deal with malware and crap that I used to clean out with Ad-Aware while I used IE.

Firefox... I should probably switch to Opera, but I don't feel like making the effort when Firefox works well for 90%+ of what I want it to do.

Well I've been told consistently that Opera is 'womg fast lulz'.

Eventually, I'll try it out. Again, like Imajin, it works and I'm too lazy.

Until last September I used IE. It wasn't until I heard a similar discussion about what browser was better that I decided to try Firefox. Now I don't think I'll ever go near IE again

Drag's Post #149
I use Firefox because it works and I like it. I haven't had any problems with it, ever, unlike Opera, which has all of these stupid convenient features all over the place. I mean, come on, why would you want built-in ad blocking when Firefox has extentions for it? Mouse gestures? Oh please, give me buttons or shift+scrollwheel up/down or backspace any day. And it's fast? Oh brother, it probably is really efficient and doesn't use CPU at all. Who needs conservation like THAT? I bet it doesn't even waste memory either!

...well, a lot of Opera users kept bashing Firefox (not in this thread, though), so I decided it was time for the opposite.

And yeah, I don't care if everyone thinks Firefox is clunky and wasteful, it *WORKS* and it conforms to *STANDARDS*, and with extentions, you can add a lot of functionality to it. So I use it, because I like it.

It's a layout... that I worked hard on. ^_^
----------------------------------------------------

Firefox, just because it works. I havent tried opera yet, and until firefox becomes unbearably bad, that fact will remain.

Not to mention, extentions are win.
