Yeah, I love simulation games (like Sims, RCT etc) but I am horrible at them

Ever heard of Sim Tower/Yoot Tower? It's a really old 2D game but it's addictive

It's an old Maxis game where you have to build a skyscraper and get it to 100 floors, building stuff (you gain more items as you go on), earning money and such.

Yoot Tower is the extremely rare sequel (it took me a long time to find a copy) which also has downloadable addons (they're practically impossible to find though

), more areas/goals and other fun additions. For a while when I was a kid, I played Sim Tower all the time.

Not surprising, they're not well known at all - SimCity and Sims are the best known ones afaik.

I just tried starting it up to take a screenshot. I love the Engrish in this game.

Yeah, I guess it's a matter of taste. I only played it because I thought the graphics were pretty

I haven't played them in a while, I've already played through Fire Red, Emerald and Diamond. I don't know why but I find it really hard to get into the GB/GBC games (I think it's because of the low res graphics).

I can't wait for Heart Gold/Soul Silver so I can finally play a decent looking version of the GSC games

I think I had downloaded the Japanese version to try it out, but I didn't play it (or maybe that was Platinum?)

I usually don't bother with Japanese versions of games unless I'm ROM hacking and need to check something in one, because I like being able to understand things. Plus the Pokemon games are heavily story/dialogue based, and that's my favourite part of them (more so than the battling/catching Pokemon aspect)

Yeah, you probably know more than me.

I can understand Japanese.. somewhat. I have to look up every character (Katakana/Hiragana), convert it to Romaji and then look up the definition of the word(s). And if it's kanji I don't even bother trying. I have no idea how people can read Japanese text easily.

Well I don't read it "easily", it usually takes me a few seconds to read a small word, and a lot of thinking because I keep forgetting the kana...

Even then, I don't think I could even memorise the kana. They all look the same to me

That's what happens when you make a ton of forums for a few members. It's usually better to start with less than 5 forums so the board looks packed than to have 2000 forums and more than half of them empty...

Yeah, seeing a lot of empty forums just intimidates me. Several of the biggest boards I've seen (like Jul) have few forums, but they're all widely used.

I think it works out better to have less forums which are used more, instead of more forums which are used less. You can expand later on if needed, and it will be easier to find things and seem more active to prospective new members.
