So I was just at MAG-Fest the past few days. Holy shit I had the time of my life so I am making a thread about how awesome it was to meet people I talk to on the Internet and play video games and shit down people's necks.
Also a few photos and later videos.
So I boarded a plane Thursday morning, arrived at DCA at about 2:00 PM. I am at the hotel from 3:00 to 8:00 waiting for everyone to arrive. Finally I hear people discussing Warchamp, which is someone I know, so I see they are the group I am with. After doing some shit or whatever we head back up to the hotel room for some introduction crap and drop off my luggage. Here, Hank Peters showed us Warchamp's Chirstmas gift from him.
We died of laughter, and so did he when he got it. We don't know what he did with it later. He probably ate it.
Renard and Squeedge came up to the room with us (that is Lawlzy, Hank Peters, Warchamp, InfamousPat, and I at the moment I think. I forget shit) and said they had loads of games down in the game room like Pump It Up Pro, DrumMania/GuitarFreaks, Taiko Drummaster, and fucking IIDX Sirius. We head there, but they closed the game room at about 11:00 AM due to the new year celebration shit.
Jon St. John introduced the new year and we headed back to the room for a bit. About an hour later we heard that Renard was about to play so we rushed back down for him playing. Holy shit.
The entire room was pretty full of people dancing and shit. After Renard was done everyone wanted an encore so he played two more songs and everyone pretty much got on stage. Absolutely sick.
We then headed to the room again, relaxed, and slept. I ended up sleeping from 3:30 AM to 6 AM. When I woke up I decided to head to the game room for games.
IIDX Sirius was actually here. I only played a bit but since I suck I failed Bad Maniacs.
There was a Pro machine, but sometime around Saturday it changed to NXA so I played that a bit.
Hank Peters and Lawlzy playing DDR. It went from an OpenITG to a DDR Extreme for a tourney then back to OpenITG.
We headed to McDonalds once everyone was up. We got lunch and Hank Peters bought two holiday pies that looked disgusting. Was was hilarious was the box though.
We headed back, took a look at the shops. LOADS of shit that they were selling. Hank bought an Atari which we played in the room. Renard found Energhiz and a Megaman 2 box, as well as a ton of other games. I bought a few things which I will show you later.
I missed Metroid Metal and Virt that night though. Shit.
This was the best sign in the entire fucking hotel.
Lots of shit happened yesterday. Mostly hanging out in the room and then heading to a Thai restaurant nearby. I was fucking beat but had to stay up for Renard's set, one he was waiting forever to do.
Renard used an iPhone for this set. Better than the previous guy who used turntables and screwed up mixing shit. MC Hardcheese got the entire room to do the X-Men arcade Collosus grunt. RAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! Renard also played three new tracks it seems. Can't wait for those.
So yeah. There was a lot more and I'll be sure to post the videos and stuff when I see them and get them uploaded.
Here is the shit I got.
This was actually a Christmas gift from Hank Peters. It rules.
Multitap I won in a random raffle thing. I got something a lot better my first try though.
They had other games, and I really wanted Subterranian Animism, but that was a bit pricey for me, so I got PCB instead.
Won in the raffle like the multitap.
There were a bunch of pins, so I bought some.
This was the book that showed what was going on this year. Pretty basic.

The badge I wore. Everyone wrote random shit.
Also I WAS IN A FUCKING ELEVATOR WITH JON ST. JOHN FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
I am going next year. You should all go. Fuck.

This was great and all but I don't think anything will ever compare to the epic Sardius trip to CGE 2k2. (2k3 was also funny but by no means nearly as much so)

Part of an in-joke. Basically he abused an emoticon and we replaced it with one that said WARCHAMP POST instead.
There were a lot of jokes this time. Hank's dad sent him a text that said "HAVE YOU DONE THE DJ YET?" There was Hank being drunk and saying hilarious shit like "YOU SPICHEAD" and such. Then there was EL BIOSHOCKO. I owned anyone that played Panel de Pon against me.
The only thing I regret is not taking more pictures and videos.

Well they did have a Tetris Attack tourney but I couldn't enter anything because I was constantly busy and some tourneys went on to Sunday, which is when I left.

I don't think he was there. I know the Nostalgia Critic was, according to his Blog: Many members of TGWTG.com was there. Mostly reporting stuff and just being themselves.
The con reminds me of MoMocon in many ways in one. I met the voice actor from Space Ghost and Brack from the Brack show. Hell one voice actor from the anime Death Note (Not sure who he was. I think it might have been either Light or L) came up and shook my hand after I pulled This little stunt during the karaoke sessions they had there. (If you are not aware, I love karaoke)

I did not, actually. Just was in an elevator with Jon St. John.
I think AVGN will be there next year as well. He was there last year and this year, so he should be there next time if it all seems right.
Also I missed Virt and Metroid Metal play. Damn.
