Also, remember that SMB1 was bundled with many NESes. I'm a bit surprised that NSMBDS is higher on that list thean either SMW or SMB3.

Well, considering that NSMBDS was billed as the first 2D Mario game since SMW... it's probably no wonder it sold a lot of copies

Still, the lack of flying in NSMBDS really sucked

I know some stores have had bundle deals with Wii Sports resort, but considering how phenomenally popular the Wii was for Wii sports itself, I'm not sure why you're surprised that it's sequel is selling by the bucketload.

I used to love that game, as you can most likely see. Then I played SMB3 and SMW and realised how much better they were than NSMB DS. I only liked it because of the "FIRST 2D MARIO IN X YEARS" hype.

- Crappy 3D/2D/prerendered 3D graphics mix
- Repetitive level design
- Annoying physics

NSMBWii is so much better.

I don't like the new powerups in NSMBDS.

Mega Mario is unusable in most levels because of their designs and only rarely can rack up the 1-UPs in my experience. Mini Mario makes you weaker and is awkward to control. Shell Mario is also awkward to control and it's easy to bonk yourself into a pit and die.

Also, how do I fly? There's no way to do that in NSMBDS. I liked flying in SMB3

After playing NSMBWii, I never want to go back to NSMBDS. In fact, I was playing more 4P NSMBWii today and we had a blast. So much fun. Managed to beat 8-7 with 4 people!

OMG I'm not sure how you managed that, the game is so hard when more than two people are playing it!

My cousins don't help either, they'd rather brawl each other than beat the level.

Exactly! Mega Mario is useless. Mini Mario is insanely hard to get. Shell Mario is fun but useless.

At least NSMBWii has flying and Mini Mario is more useful. I think it's just a far better game overall.

I still haven't got to play NSMBWii multiplayer

Truthfully, only two people made it to the flag but that's better than not making it at all, like every other multiplayer attempt I've tried.

I want to say it was packaged with the Gameboy at one point, which could possibly have everything to do with that--kind of like how Wii Sports was (is? I don't keep up) the best selling game of all time or something along those lines due to it being packaged with the Wii. I am surprised to see SMG as low as it was, however.

The NES was bundled with Super Mario Bros and was more or less the only decent gaming console at the time (blame the crash). These days there are far many more competing systems around, so it's only natural.
