Note that I did not make this a poll because of all the possible choices... and I would've certainly left off some resolutions making it

Anyway, I'm using 1920x1200x32bit@60Hz on my primary computer, on a Sceptre 24" monitor connected using a DVI cable... as for my other computers, I'm on 800x600x16bit@60Hz on an old HP CRT monitor on my 11-year-old HP Pavilion, and 640x480x24bit@60Hz on the Performa 575's built-in CRT monitor

I can do a lot with 1920x1200, like run GIMP and Firefox at the same time as well as talk on AIM, or work with OpenOffice documents while checking Jul

800x600x16bit was my resolution of choice for many years... from about 2001 to 2007 or so... then I got an iMac and went to (I think) 1440x900... it sure was a big jump in resolution

Lain's post №329

1366x768 for my laptop, and when I go back to residence, I'll have a second screen that will be 1920x1080 (my new TV).

I'm on that wacky 1366*768 as well. I'm on a laptop and couldn't afford to buy a huge screen anyway, so I don't usually go for high resolutions.

1920x1200 (27") + 1280x1024 (19") since 2 years, and probably at least a few more years to come

It's great for multitasking since I still keep everything small on screen, I usually have WinAMP, EditPlus, Firefox, IRC, command prompt and mouse odometer on screen all at once (and a nice jump from the 800x600 and 1024x768 I used until 2005)

I prefer smaller resolutions because I like to see the pixels.

Shiny new layout!
----------------------------------------------------

Between my three monitors (laptop included)

1650x1080(I may have these backwards), 1440x900 for my secondary screen, and 1280x800 for my laptop.

They all have their own sets of wallpapers too

1280x1024@75Hz (32-bit color)

I like my LCD monitor because I can turn the resolution all the way up to 2048x1536@60Hz and still be able to use it somewhat. Anyone else able to do that?

1680x1050 + 1280x1024. Then I have two more I can't plug in, because this old board can't run multiple video cards.

1440x900. 32-bit color, not that many people use anything else. I don't know what my refresh rate is (I'm assuming 60Hz) and I don't think it matters. I'm on an LCD.

Paulguy's Post configuration
1920x1080x24bit@60hz on 32" on the desktop

1920x1200x24bit@60hz on 17" on the laptop, with the DPI turned up in Windows and... well fuck Mac OS for not having that option.

1600x900x24bit@60hz on 20" on the old computer.

Before that, 1680x1050x24bit@50hz on 22", 1280x1024x24bit@60hz on 19", 1024x768x24bit@75hz on 17" CRT, 800x600x24bit@60hz on... probably ~14" CRT, Apple 2 green screen monitor.

1680x1050 primary and secondary (22").

Lots of real estate for doing random stuff.

Desktop: 1680x1050 (x2)
Laptop: 1280x800

The desktop's secondary monitor (22" ViewSonic with crappy color reproduction) is used almost exclusively for IRC, while the primary monitor (22" Samsung with better color reproduction) handles everything else. However, once I get back into Web design, the secondary monitor will be used for testing pages at various resolutions, as well as keeping them visible and quickly reloadable as I play with the HTML. Pretty darned handy!

1920x1080 & 1440x900 with my laptop; I use an external monitor at home. On the go, just 1440x900, obviously.

Desktop shares the external monitor, but is on the VGA input rather than DVI. Properly calibrated, there is almost no noticeable picture quality degradation for the machine so ... this setup is fine.

1600x900 at home, 1440x900 at school, 320x240 on the iPod touch (and that with heightx2 on the DSi), and 480x272 on the PSP.

Also, thanks for ruining my "new year's resolution" joke. >:\
