What do you prefer to use when washing your hands?

My preference is the hand sanitizer as of late, although in its absence I'll use liquid soap. I hate bar soap. It's clumsy to deal with washing your whole hand with it, the bar get too small to be much use over time, and it makes a mess wherever you set it down. I wonder if/when North American hotels will ever switch to liquid soap like the European ones I've been to.

I like the convenience of hand sanitizer otherwise as well, like if I'm at school and not in the bathroom but touched something gross.

I always keep a bottle of hand sanitizer with me in my bag

However, I do prefer liquid soap whenever I'm home, but I also keep a hand sanitizer bottle in my car as well...

No preference really. When I had hand sanitizer I'd forget about it and wash my hands with soap and water anyway. I can't vote.

If there is liquid soap then I will always use it when I wash my hands, if I am washing my hands at a place other than my home and there is a bar of soap I usually won't use it.

I never use hand sanitizer, I find that it leaves weird feeling on my hands and over time causes them to start becoming dry. While I'm out I usually just try not to touch anything that I don't need to and keep my hands away from my face .

Shiny new layout!
----------------------------------------------------

Soap and water.

Though... it's usually just hot water. Soap is just too cumbersome or... awkward sometimes (slimy soap anyone? )

Hand sanitizer, which reminds me, I need to buy some. If not, then liquid soap.

Usually with what's on hand. I seldom have the luxury of choice in this house.

But I prefer liquid soap. Does a better job, and it's a little less cumbersome than bar soap.

Seconded, I shower and wash my hands after I use the restroom. Sneeze into my sleeves (as is the new norm from what I heard) and that's about all I do as far as germ preventing goes. That and I only get sick once a year, and usually just the latest strain of flu that's going around that I don't have the antibodies built up for yet.

Bar soap makes my skin feel dry and weird. Liquid first, hand sanitizer second. If I'm at home and neither are available, I'd sooner go without most of the time.

Luckily for everyone involved, we almost always have liquid soap.

Alcohol/Liquid soap for when I eat, just hot water most of the time otherwise.

I got sick thrice and an extra time as well. I am an enemy of Lysol and similar, for I believe it goes further to poison people and strengthen the very bacteria it's killing rather than to prevent things.

Whatever I can get my hands on (or, rather, I suppose, whatever I can get on my hands), although I prefer liquid soap, sometimes hand sanitizer. Fuck bar soap.

I'd also like to note I wash my hands too often. They're almost always dry.

I don't like bar soap, because it can easily slip out of your hand... and squarish shaped soap can be hard to rotate in your hand

Paulguy's Post configuration
I'm really damn clumsy and I've never had these problems with bars of soap. I use bar soap all the time, unless I'm in the downstairs bathroom which has liquid soap. I only use the soap when I have done #2, though.

I never use sanitizer and I avoid stuff like lysol and that unless it's an actual mess, like if the cat pood on the ground or something. I won't just go spraying doorknobs and shit, that's just ridiculous.

Did I mention I very rarely get sick? :p

This. I prefer liquid soap, or even just hot water depending on the situation. Hand sanitizer is just gross in my opinion, especially that stuff that foams. It makes me feel like I'm washing my hands in public spit. Plus it's really just strengthening the germs we're trying to kill so that more bacteria will be immune to hand sanitizer in the future. I do keep some purel in my purse and car as a last resort, but I always wash my hands afterward as soon as I can.

I always use liquid soap when washing my hands. And I also always wash my hands after using the bathroom and every time I touch something dirty, play with my dog or other stuff like that.

The softest, most hypo-allergenic liquid soap available, please. Anything else prqactically eats through my hands. Curse you, eczema!
