A funny thing I've noticed; what people look like is often not their actual age. I happen to be a strange version, as people generally see me as being 23-24 or older, when I am in fact only 21. This occurs both on and off the internet--then again, I have a sort of angular face.

How far off (if at all) are people at guessing your agaes? Alternatively, do any of the true ages of members here surprise you?

I'm 22. When I flew to Seattle in August, someone at the airport thought I was 17

I used to be removed at least two years from many of my classmates. Now I actually AM at least two/three years younger than them.
But there were others way smaller, like this girl that looked like she was 10 or something in comparision, so it's not like I am that short nor anything. Actually, it's more like most other people in that class looked older.

I always looked younger than I really was, for example:
- Not being let into a 16+ rated movie when I was 20
- Someone else also thought I was 15 or 16 when I was about to turn 21 (or 22?)

I might look a bit older now (at 26), but mostly because I don't shave often and grow more of a beard than most teens would have


On the opposite side, I was once thought to be about 19 when I was 16 ... but that was online, not by looks

I used to be one of the youngest members of my grade at school (even before I skipped 4th grade temporarily*). Therefore, I was often the smallest person in my grade as well in elementary school when exact age is often the biggest determiner of height and weight, so I thought of myself as tiny. Even though now I'm fucking huge.

*Temporary because after we moved from New York state to Michigan, I repeated 5th grade.

Or it could be like me:
- Skipped grade 1, and stayed ahead all the way through (until my 8 month break after finishing college anyway)
- My birthday is about a month before the age check (that is, I started school right around when I turned 5, a month older than the youngest allowed)
- I've always been short for my age (even now, 5'5"), and almost underweight (currently around 125lbs)
- I looked young for my age (see above) and was 1-2 years younger than everyone

My group picture for secondary 2 (grade 8, I was 12 and weighed about 75lbs) would show it best ... I was right in the middle, a few inches shorter than everyone around me

As for me, I've always apparently look a year or two older than I was, according to others. It gets a little annoying after a while to hear that you "look like you're 18" when you're 15 or so...

It worked out well for me, as I skipped two grades in highschool and went directly to College.

Only now, I'm beginning to get to be old, to the extent I'm usually the 'old hat' in the classroom, telling people about horror stories from 3-4 years ago and talking to the teachers like I'm part of the staff.

I should really transfer soon--as good as the community college is, after a point I may as well live there

People seem to guess right nowadays. I think facial features caught up to me without my noticing.

Used to get guesses of three years younger than I actually was (In my middle teens, specifically).

I'm about average height for a female (5'7" or 170 cm), although until I was about 15 or 16, I was only around 5'3" (160 cm)

My sister, OTOH... she's only 4'11" (150 cm), and I think that might've been caused by being struck by lightning when she was around 3 or 4 and surviving
