Throwing in my love for FFX-2. Fuck 'da haters, that game rules. It feels more like a Final Fantasy than Let's Grind Spheres: The Cutscene: The Game or MMOPARADISE.JAPAN

But you know what I like? Like, really like, despite all the hate it gets?

Final Fantasy 2. :X

Liked both of these well, and didn't really have any problem with the voices in Sonic.

Also, while it certainly wasn't the best Zelda game (or the worst), I did enjoy Twilight Princess. In fact, I loved the Twilight realm and all the dungeons starting with the water boss. Ball & Chain is funtastic to wield, and Dual Clawshot made me feel like Spiderman.

Not bad per se, pretty cool actually. Gets repetitive after a while. Good music though.

Not to mention that the entire game is basically "princess gets kidnapped, sonic must save princess, repeat ad nauseum." Seriously, I think Elise gets kidnapped like 20 times in this game for no reason other than to have sonic really creepily laugh with her among the flower fields during the 5 seconds that she's actually rescued.

Here's a sample of that game's shittiness.

Boring as hell, crappy story, crappy voice acting (especially silver), and Sonic's emo moment at 4:37. The creepy laugh is at 8:50, but watch 8:18 for the one moment worth watching in the whole game. Sonic's look on his face just screams "oh, shit that didn't work!"

AGH OH GOD. Interspecies love story. I actually wanted to play that game. But the storyline seems incredibly fucked up. And the bugs sound awful.
Also. I like the voice actors in recent games. Call me weird.

Yeah I actually like the Sonic X voice actors in the newer games. I kind of prefer the voice actors from Sonic Adventure in the case of tails and knuckles though. Knuckles works either way, but TAILS ugh, why is he voiced by a girl now? I want to punch him. Of course he wasn't exactly less annoying in Sonic Adventure either. I was talking about the acting in this game, not the voices themselves. Sonic seems so out of character in this one, and silver can't pronounce the letter L! Not to mention that when he attacks he sounds like a retarded Twilight Princess Link. I was interested in this game too because it actually looks pretty epic, but it is totally not trust me. Its just horrible.

Bomberman Hero. It wasn't the greatest of Bomberman games, it was a completely different take on the series, but it was still pretty entertaining to play.

Earth Defense Force 2010 also falls into this category. Repetitive gameplay, boring graphics, but was somewhat addicting.

To be honest, I liked Sonic Heroes aside from the shit-terrible and all-too-common voices ("SHAAAAAAAH!" "WHOAH, MY HEAD'S SPINNING!" etc), and I don't really get the hate that goes toward it and the Sonic Adventure games. People seem to claim that Sonic Adventure 2 ruined the series, but it... really didn't. It was a great game with good music, fun gameplay and levels (aside from the gem hunt stages, eugh), and the multiplayer's pretty good (moreso on the GCN version where you get everything except levels from the start).
I also don't understand the hate that people give toward the Sonic Advance series (besides Advance 2, that one really does have problems). I especially love Sonic Advance 3.

That was actually a really good game, of course, I haven't played many Bombermans...

I thought Bomberman Hero was pretty good too, especially the cool soundtrack. The lack of multiplayer sucked though.

Bomberman Hero, oh man I loved that game as a kid. Though if I could change anything it would be to make it so the game kept track of the crystals and life bars extensions you got when you started up the game each time. Having 4 life for all the bosses because you aren't playing in one sitting makes the game tough. Still loved the game though.

And I agree Supa, SA2 was pretty great, though that might just be the fact that it was the first sonic game I got (I DIDN'T OWN A GENESIS AS A KID). Even now, years later, I still play it from time to time. I almost had all the emblems too, though the loss of my white GCN memory card saw to the destruction of that goal.

SA2 was great. I played that all the tiem.
Bomberman Hero was great too. Probably only played it on a real N64 once or twice though.

I loved the weird soundtrack in Bomberman Hero. One of the most memorable tracks came off as minimalist electronica lounge music. Wonder if I can download that anywhere.

I should also mention that Dynasty Warriors 5 and its expansions are made of awesome. "Butbutbut Romance of the Three Kingdoms is the same thing over and over again! And so many characters have the exact same story mode battles!" But the beat 'em up gameplay is inherently fun if you enjoy it. It offers plenty of move sets to choose from and RPG elements - leveling up your dudes, collecting better items and weapons - and there are walls o' text galore so you get to know all the characters and their roles in the story. (Plus some cut scenes that tend to venture into Corn Country and the Uncanny Valley nearby, but most of the exposition is done with natural-sounding voice-over'ed text.) I used to enjoy Dynasty Warriors on a Street Fighter level. "That guy with claws is cool. Let's go beat some ass." My DW5 addiction introduced me to the whole cast and gave me hundreds of hours of super happy fun time gameplay.

I didn't realize anybody considered Bomberman Hero bad. I loved that game. I don't remember much of the soundtrack, but I love this song.

Edit: As apparently stripped down as Disgaea DS is, I still love it. Sure, I'll have to find videos of the cutscenes again to hear the voice acting, but the text alone is funny. Oh, and I can change orders if a target is destroyed before someone gets to it. :3

I know a lot of you are already casting aside Spirit Tracks as more of the same, but I'm looking forward to it greatly.

Funny thing is that the reviews so far are saying that Spirit Tracks > Phantom Hourglass. That is good.

And Disgaea DS, gameplay-wise, is GOOD. I know that the PS2 and PSP versions are better in terms of polish, but... it's the exact same game. If you only have a DS, well... it's not like you're getting an unplayable game. You're getting a VERY playable game that you can sink a lot of time into.

That's one I remembered and quite liked. And look what I found.

Milky was the lounge song I'd been thinking of earlier.

It's been a rather long time since I last played it, so I may have forgotten how the game played..

I think the reason I consider it "bad" is that it just wasn't like the previous games in any way, and that's what I loved about bomberman. It became less of an action-puzzle and became a platformer. The game itself was decent, but.. I don't know, I just couldn't enjoy it like I would enjoy a game like Wario Blast.

That, and I hated the later bosses, especially since I would have to go back to get lives.

For me, I love platformers and when I was younger I especially loved games that had lots of item collection in them. Bomberman hero was a perfect fit for me. Later I got Bomberman 64 the second attack and that was great even if it was more classic styled. I never did beat that game though...endgame was too ridiculous.

It's definitely not my favorite game although Link: The Faces Of Evil isn't that bad once you get past the horrid cut-scenes and other flaws. I actually really liked Zelda II and was disappointed when Nintendo never released another side scroller Zelda game which is probably why I enjoy The Faces of Evil a bit. Some of the songs in the soundtrack aren't that bad either and can actually be rather catchy .
