I've been waiting to play Puzzle Fighter on the XB360 ever since I heard it rumored months ago. Now that its finally out for download, and I can't get it. It seems that since I don't have a HD TV, I can't download this game (son of a....). The option to download the game isn't even there, only a list of gamer picture packs. So I went to see if I could download Hexic HD (which I already have from getting the Arcade Unplugged), there is no option to download the game. But the game works fine when I play it, even though I'm not in a HD TV. So what I think I have to do, is to take my hard drive and try to download it on my roommate's system since he has an HD TV. Maybe that'll work. But this is utter BS, just because I can't fork over the money to get a HD TV, I shouldn't suffer just because I want to play some old school puzzle game.

I dunno, I'm a Nintendo guy, and I tend to not like how the other non-Nintendo companies like to rip people off like that. The XBox 360 is apparently TEH BOMZ0R because it supports HD, and although it's nice, Microsoft shouldn't be forcing people to move to HD. It's just like Sony, who tried to re-invent the CD/DVD format, twice, when it's really fine the way it is.

Though, I'm sure someone can find something bad about Nintendo, other than the fact that the wii doesn't support HD resolution. (You can still play on a HD tv, but the games can't utilize the actual HD resolution.)

As far as I can tell, the game itself isn't out yet. Only downloadable content. Didn't show up when I used a VGA cable, and I'm sure there'd be more topics on various sites about whether it's conversion was good.

Given the other restrictions on the X360, I wouldn't be surprised:
  • Music can't be copied from portable devices, and only MP3 and WMA are supported.
  • Gamer pictures can't be copied from portable devices. You can only buy them (ha!), get them from games, or use the camera (lol downscaled to nothing).
  • You can't make your own themes. You can select a JPEG file and it will put that image behind all four tabs (you can't do anything to the Marketplace tab) and that's it.
  • Streaming media from your PC means running Windows and some other MS program. Can't just read the MP3 files from your network shares, oh no no no. Then they wouldn't have an excuse to force you to install something.
  • Ever wonder what's the difference between Live Silver and Gold? Simple: With Silver, you can't actually play the games.


So much durr. Supposedly there's a free/open-source server that emulates Xbox Live, so you can use it instead of the actual Live service, meaning hacked boxes can play on it. Hopefully that gets more popular.
