I'm learning Java -- I'm in class right now, actually -- and I've been playing around with making a simple command-line text adventure. SOME OUTPUT! ----jGRASP exec: java smb1 SUPER MARIO BROS. There is also a brown CREATURE blocking the way forward. It looks angry. Above You hit your head on the blocks. Ouch! You see a row of five blocks floating in the sky ABOVE you. There is also a brown CREATURE blocking the way forward. It looks angry. creature The creature seems uglier the closer you get to it!. It looks like a diseased, angry mushroom. You could try to rush PAST it, JUMP on it, or GO OVER it. past That was stupid. You bump into the creature on the way by, and your body goes numb. It feels almost as if you're falling off the world, into oblivion... GAME OVER Continue? y/n n ----jGRASP: operation complete. It's ugly, but I'm just learning. I've got to the point where you can stomp the goomba, and get 200 points. D: Now, to figure out how to make the points persist. Also, I totally forgot the first coin.
