For some reason my Zune has been putting songs on my player that I didn't want there and taking off the songs that I want.

I just haven't had the time nor the will to deal with it.

I did try to delete some of the songs today, but my Zune wasn't connected to the PC. After I deleted them, I plugged it in and thought that it would take the songs off.

Of course it didn't.

I use an iPod (ugh), so I wouldn't be of any help. I use Winamp to sync mine though. I get frustrated with it a lot less than I do with iTunes (ughX2)

I wish I had a Zune...I wonder if anywhere has a good deal on them for Black Friday...

I used to use ml_iPod with my iPod Touch, but the 3.0 update broke compatibility and the author can't be arsed to fix it anymore.

Funny thing, though; I've found that as of iTunes 9.0, iTunes is far more reasonable and less laggy than it has been in a very long time. It's annoying that I'm forced to use it, but... :\

I never had much luck getting anything besides iTunes to work with iPod Touch/iPhone. That's one of my main complaints with the Touch, actually. I'm sticking with my 2nd Generation Nano until something happens to it. After that, I'm not getting another iPod. Lesson learned.

I used to have a Samsung MP3 player, but the battery started acting screwy after a while, so I pretty much gave up on it.

May I ask if you charged it all the time? I heard that people who keep their MP3 plugged in all the time, will cause the battery to get weak and then fail all together.

Possibly.

It's been years, but today I keep one of my cell phones plugged in all the time, because it's a lot cheaper than the $52/month for AT&T landline service. Similarly with my laptop if I'm not taking it places, and its battery is horrible.

I tried looking up the Zune problem, and the only thing I could find was a topic on the zune.net forums (official site?) about the issue. From the sounds of it, it could be something to do with auto-playlists or filters of some kind. I've never owned a Zune, so I don't know what kind of features it has.

I need a new iPod. I could really get some mileage off the FM radio, video camera and voice recorder features.

Oh, and the music. Yes.

I have a Creative Zen.

Apparently now it doesn't keep the charge anymore.

Paulguy's Post configuration
If you have an mp3 player, with all the music you like on it, why would the fm radio functionality be so useful? I suppose the stations where you are might not be so bad, but they're basically unlistenably awful where I live.

Oh yeah. I have an iPhone. I just upload songs over ssh and use avplayer. No need to use iTunes. Especially good since I'm in Linux.

I have a first generation iPod shuffle.

I rarely use it.

It still lives.

Portable players have this tendency to suck. Hello, where's the OGG support? It's a free open standard FFS.

I use LightMP3 on a hacked PSP. None of that DRM/special software bullshit. Open-source and does pretty well everything I want.

My MP3 player (an iRiver, 1GB) actually supports OGGs. It's a nice little thing, but it kinda sucks up batteries. (AA, but only one)

I found myself using LightMP3 a few times, as well. It just... seems easier, really.

I've got a 3rd gen iPod nano. It suits my needs. And I can use foobar2000 to move songs onto it. iTunes is just there because of video, and cleaning up (and the occasional music purchase)

Modo and GameMusicGear MX work decently enough for me, so I haven't tried any other players. I do wish someone would develop an accurate MOD player with filtering/resampling, though. Stop basing players on the MikMod/ModPlug code, you tone-deaf jerks!

Paulguy's Post configuration
http://eval.sovietrussia.org/wiki/Schism_Tracker

Here's a fork of modplug (including a tracker based on impulse tracker) that is trying to fix it's problems. I'm not really sure how easy it would be to separate the library code from the tracker, but anything with an SDL port should be able to run it.
