That looks pretty cool, I had heard the name mentioned before but I didn't know what it was (I assumed it was just a generic FPS)

I'd try it but I'm not really much of a FPS person and I'd probably get bored with it extremely quickly, such is my extremely short attention span...

I never got into FPSes. I always thought they were pretty boring.

Give me some old-school platformers

Same. I haven't really played any FPSes though except for Portal, it was pretty fun. One of my friends got me to download Gmod (does that count as one?) but I haven't played it yet.

I'll log onto an instant messenger service if I need help with someone and I need to contact someone ASAP. Other than that, no need to have it on.

Yahoo was so bad with spammy IMs, then I deleted the client off of my blackberry.

Does anyone else remember those dialogue boxes that'd pop up in Windows with ads every so often? I think that was "net send". When I resurrected a 2002-era computer in 2006, I got that stuff a lot for a while.

OH GOD.

Those.

All I can say is that I'm glad those are gone. Nastiest fucking thing ever, seriously. I got them in early 2004, and forgot how I got rid of them.

I use Pidgin although I curse myself when I run it along with Pangya. Pidgin goes BOOM then.

Haven't had malware in forever either.

Pidgin never went BOOM for me. I guess I'm lucky.

My brother uses Pidgin, and for a while he had trouble with file transfers. Every time I tried to send him a file, it would say I cancelled it the moment it appeared on his screen while I was still waiting for him to accept on my end. A friend of mine had the same problem, too. Now it works fine. I wonder why that is.

I find it works best if you restart it after it crashes. Bizarre, but...

Oh, that's the funny thing. Pidgin will work just fine after Pangya finishes loading.

Then again, it takes forever for me to Alt+Tab out of Pangya...

I've always used MSN Messenger when I talk to a few friends, but lately I've been having problems with Live Messenger, and I'm really starting to get the urge to switch to some other program.

Hopefully Pidgin or some other one would be better.

I use Trillian Astra for all my IM clients. Link

Facebook, twitter, IRC, AIM, Yahoo, MSN, and a hell of a lot more if you actually purchase the product. But the free version alone comes with a boatload of stuff. And thanks to Astra, it's universal. So if you are on a different computer, you can log into your Astra account and it automatically updates your friends lists and clients (Skins, and the full version unfortunately does not work I believe)

I use Miranda IM, myself.

Light as hell, and it's got every feature I need (file transfers). Sometimes I wish it included text formatting, but lack of it isn't a bother in the least. You can customize it pretty well, as far as I know... but I find myself happy with the default settings.

I remember having problems with file transfers on AOL's AIM client, never mind a third party one.

This marks the first day in the history of Jul that I've posted during the 8 AM hour.

AIM was acting screwy last night, kicking me offline and such.

And I've had file transfers fail a lot, to the point at which I just give people my E-mail address instead

I use Trillian Astra for all my IM clients.

This is what I use, the free trail version.

For some reason, it likes to have Skype open so I end up with two windows if I'm talking to someone.

I've never been able to get Trillian to work for me. It doesn't matter much as I only have 1 IM service

I should try Pidgin though, before Gabu hounds on me more for using AOL's AIM program
