Back when I was a prog-or-die nerd, I tried getting my band to do a concept album based off the four seasons. And the album would be four twenty minute epics (one for each season). ... Then I realized I was being a fucktard.

Every idea I come up with is the worst I've ever come up with. Seriously, they're all that terrible.

"It would totally be a great idea to get this Western Digital external hard disk!"

~ 1 YEAR LATER ~

"Oh no! My disk is just out of warranty and it failed, causing me to lose 750GB of backups!"

Said failure occurred today.

My anger is almost tangible. You could poke at it. With a spoon.

There's not enough space in this forum's database to hold all of it. Here's the highlights:

1. Taking a slight about my IRC RPG's quality too seriously and starting a 3-way, 3-year IRC drama war over it.
2. Making various RPG systems without testing them.
3. Replacing a heatsink, then smashing the foot of the heatsink in so hard it breaks.
4. Running away from a computer after I think it is fixed, so it can conveniently burn up a floppy drive while I'm not looking.
5. Then not testing the motherboard afterwards and assuming it's dead, when in reality it isn't.
6. Becoming a moderator at VGF, a forum which tolerates practically anything and charges for avatars, while brandishing my anti-money and anti-idiot cred.
7. Eating a jalepeno chili pod. Followed by another instance where I put way too much horseradish-rocket-booster mustard on a sandwich. My nose. Ow.
8. Trying to unplug a light connected to an extension cord underneath a bed in the dark. *BZZZT* That was... electrifying.
9. Looking at a Doberman Pinscher in the face. It bit mine off.
10. The various times I ran around like a maniac without looking at hit my head into steel poles as a child.
11. Trusting Glyph Phoenix to program any website things for me, ever.
12. Allowing my friends favoritism in SSQ.
13. Allowing my enemies favoritism in SSQ.
14. Trying to merge an IRC RPG with a fanfic, both of which being highly polarized fanbases who hated one another.
15. Microwaving a lunchable's pizza for 6 minutes.
16. Carrying both the cat and a power supply down the stairs. I went flying down them. The cat was unharmed. The power supply was unharmed. I felt pretty sore for several days after/
17. Buying a laptop with a DESKTOP PENTIUM 4 CONROE IN IT
18. THEN BUYING A DESKTOP WITH THE SAME PROCESSOR AFTER THAT PROC MELTED MY LAPTOP'S HARD DRIVE
19. Thinking a combination fax machine/scanner/printer would do any of those functions properly.
20. Leaving a box atop a remote for a year on end to block an LED light I could have just unplugged from my computer.
21. Using a cheap USB drive which bends easily in a port where my hand is likely to fly into it and bend the plug to death.
22. Running while carrying a bible, 3 other books, my notebook, a legal pad, a DS, and god knows what other garbage in my backpack on my back.
23. Running while nearly at 10,000 feet altitude and not having acclimated yet.
24. Not drinking enough water while hiking in 107 degree heat.
25. Fording up an icemelt river that goes above my waist (BRRRRRR) with a giant precariously balanced bag full of all my valued portable electronics over my head.
26. River rafting without sunglasses.
27. Staying in any class where the teacher's methods seem anomalous and/or insane to both me and all the people I ask about them, and where they hate everything I do, no matter how good or bad it is.
28. Believing anything said by AT&T's Tier 1 tech line, or taking any modems from their tech people.
29. Trying to tell the savage roleplayers of the VGF battlefield that auto-hits are dumb.
30. Trying to tell the new judges there that the old ways should be respected.
31. Trying to convince any admin, ever, sans Xk, to be tough on idiots.
32. Telling anyone who doesn't ask me first my suggestions for running their site.
33. Joining any site which would not only ignore such suggestions, but break into an apoplectic rage if I were to suggest anything.
34. Speaking to people who fail to live to their word and just want a million second chances.
35. My database design for SSQ^2, which is notoriously inflexible and annoying for me to deal with.
36. Destroying IRC RPGs which I thought were bad. Many of them, in retrospect, were still funny to look at.
37. Various times: giving certain people even the time of day to express my opinion at them, or to even regard a single sentence they said with any credence.
38. Converse of 37: Ignoring people who were more than willing to address misunderstandings with me (back when I was Mr. Stupid IRC warlord, see #1.)
39. Any time I stayed up past 4 AM--shoot, I should really go to bed soon.
40. Almost any time I eat food I can't immediately identify.

Now I'm getting a little nervous over the MyBook I got last Christmas. It's a 300 GB external. My Lan111 teacher hated WDs because he felt like they failed too often, and... uh...

Don't worry, I have a Western Digital Passport external hard drive, and luckily I haven't had any problems with it...

Trying to sell rocks when I was 5 or 6 years old.

Yes. Not colored rocks, not special rocks, not pet rocks... just rocks out of the backyard. I figured that everyone needed rocks for some reason.

I'm SO glad I had a NES growing up because there's no telling what trouble I would have gotten into.

At the time yes. No pun intended.

I still love old-fashioned prog, but I've spread my tastes to be open to any sort of music. My favorites genres at the moment are experimental, noise, psychedelic, trip-hop, electronica and post music along with my liking for prog/progressive.

All of my albums before that idea were arguably worse and even more pretentious, so I'd say to add those to my list of worst ideas as well. When I make music with a band of my liking sometime in the future, it'll be great, and that I'm sure of. I'm so glad I didn't go with any of my old ideas.

Popping three energy drinks and a ritalin to prepare for a final exam in mathematics freshman year of college ("Nerd" brand, for whatever that's worth). Damn things said they helped with memory retention. What it didn't mention was its wonderful ability to promote water retention as well. I ended up bolting to that bathroom (we weren't allowed breaks) after finishing, and in fact I'm pretty sure I gave up even bothering with the last few equations and wrote gibberish. There was mild leakage but I ended up making it. Nothing noticeable, so I dodged a pretty large bullet ;x

One of the worst ideas I think I ever had was to move a chest of drawers with everything still in it. Of course, it tipped, didn't it. Of course it happened to contain a purple vibrator, didn't it? Of course, THAT would be the only thing to come out, roll across the floor, and fall down the gap in the elevator shaft, wouldn't it? Of course there would be a bunch of men around to just watch it roll out and away.

Well, it was only visible for a moment before it was gone forever…

Do I win?

Reading this thread to this point, then laughing so loudly to wake my roommate is my worst event.

Tried to roller blade backward. Turns out I fell and fractured my wrist. Not a smart idea on my part.

Stupidest idea I ever had was to try to build a quest with 56 various dungeons (though admittedly a lot of them were going to be small).

I never finished one. Then again, it was 2003.

I tried to do a remake of Zelda II in the overhead style in ZC, with 5 full overworld maps. I didn't even come close to finishing the first one, to say nothing of dungeons, caves, and buildings.
