So, who are your favourite Chrono Trigger characters? Among playable characters, I prefer Marle and Ayla, because I really need to keep Marle around to heal my party, etc. and Ayla for her awesome strength and techs...

However, in terms of non-playable characters, you can probably tell my favourite is Schala It's too bad they never made her playable in Chrono Trigger, not even in the DS version...

If Schala were a playable character, however, I would picture her being a lot like Rosa from FF4 (also one of my favourite characters from a Square RPG) in terms of stats and spells...

So, yea... among playable characters, I'd rank them in this order from best to worst: Chrono, Marle, Ayla, Lucca, Magus, Frog, Robo

Basically he was the first character I knew becouse I found the game by watching my brother playing through that part and meeting him.
I also tend to like robotic characters for some reason.

And of course Frog. I like him the most actually. Among other things becouse his theme is awesome.

Gameplay-wise Marle though becouse I need a good enough healer.

I still think we should stop making polls like this so we don't have to deal with this "playable characters only" stuff and this "billions of choices" thing but, whatever.

As I recall about my single playthough of the game a couple of years ago, Frog was the best character when it comes to the ones you could play. His character seemed to have more depth than most of the others, and I really liked his knightly behaviour, to mention a couple of things.
Robo comes at a close second, though.

The best character overall, though, is definitely Akira Toriyama.

I voted for my roommate since he's actually beaten it. He voted for Frog as his absolute favorite, and Ayla and Magus as his other two. He liked the whole fact that Magus joins you even though he's the bad guy.
