I'm just glad it doesn't snow too hard too often here.

If the snow was the powdery, light snow, I wouldn't mind it... but our snow is always the hard, difficult to shovel type.

Actually, my opinion on weather has changed quite a bit

I used to love summer, back when it was the time I had off school, and the Thumb was pretty cold and summer was sometimes like the only warm time of the year, especially after 3 consecutive rough winters (2003, 2004, and 2005). Plus I liked swimming, and Lake Huron is rather cold most of the year. Now, I live in the warmer metro Detroit area (same general climate but the summers tend to be hotter because of the concrete and such), I have school and work for most of the summer anyway, I don't like getting all sweaty from riding my bike in the heat, and I'm not near a public beach (just a pool with really strict rules).

I don't really see what the big problem is with shoveling a lot of snow. I still like it, and there were times when there was a lot of snow that fell during the winter.

Unfortunately, I moved to a more warmer place, and rarely ever see any snow anymore.

If you lived in an area where you got snow 6 months out of the year -- shoveling snow every week gets old really quick.

Also, roads get really slick and the area where I live in, they don't plow them very well. But I would still take the cold and snow over the heat any day.

I lived out in the country, and most of the roads were dirt or gravel. The snow would blow over the mostly open fields and cover the roads. You couldn't plow the road, and you couldn't drive on the road, because first you had to find the road.

Upshot: Snow days galore

Like I said, it's how the snow is. It's usually not the fluffy snow, here, but the harder variety.

Not to mention my mother is really anal about it, too... doesn't help any. That might be the biggest reason I hate it, in fact.

I've had to shovel snow like that, but I never had any reason to hate it. It's something I had to do, and there was nothing I could do about it.

When I lived in an apartment, it was just a slight bit of sweeping/shoveling if any. I'd usually just clean the snow off other peoples' cars... I think I got a few dollars for each car, not sure.

Of course, I haven't been able to do this since I was 13. I'd be praying for snow otherwise.
