IE8 still doesn't support standard CSS opacity property.

So I don't think it did much progress on that side.

IE (all versions) is a piece of shit.

That said, the opacity property is another thing that needs to be used very carefully. *sigh*

Yup. Opacity on a div also applies to its content

For things like opacity, it's better to use, say, a PNG image. But then you must forget about using IE6.
But it's still better than the CSS opacity property. Because even when using both the standard way and the IE-proprietary one, opacity doesn't always work under IE, it only works in certain conditions, I think when the size of the div is known.

But yeah. IE is definitely pure shyt.

I like how this thread turned into a IE sucks thread (not really surprised by it).

But judging by the response this got I'll have to do it again, maybe weekly / monthly. Need some candidates which means I need to use the board more.

And Tarale, the pink, it burns (not really, although it is really pink).

It took me an eternity and a half to figure out how to get my post window to resize properly, and for it to overlap the arrow dragon in my layout at lower resolutions and browser window sizes.

That and both of the layouts I've been using here beat the hell out of that one clunky layout I used on all of the other boards before this.

I prefer to keep my simple GeneriLayout&trade . I like the quick and easy customization of colors and images.

The pink wouldn't have sufficient luminosity contrast with black text. I could make the pink darker, but then it wouldn't be a hot pink any more.

Same with if I made it a pastel.

How long I stick with hot pink is another story, but it's definitely a bold colour choice.

I used a generi-layout creator. And then image-swaps and etc. Works pretty good, although I'm sure there's lots that could be optimized.

I generally make a new layout every random number of months or so. I just pick a theme and run with it (Last two have been Portal, and "Good with every theme", which resulted in the layout actually using board CSS classes, etc)

Mine's usually a variation on my current one. I switch to a GeneriLayout when the &tags& break.

This is, by far, my favorite variation though. Wonder how long I'll end up sticking with this theme...

I fixed my layout. Now it will go with any board scheme, and I have really big text.

Really big text in Helvetica Neue if you're lucky enough to have the font installed. And if you're really lucky you'll get the light variation on it.
