That I hate this forum's draw? I've got a midterm paper that I'm supposed to have finished for tomorrow at 10AM and I haven't even started because I'm lazy and then we decided to spree. And my self-restraint sucks.

Anyone else had this forum prevent them from doing stuff they were supposed to be doing?

All the time.

I'm recalling that first spree I was a part of. I can't remember what it was I was supposed to be doing though.

I'll probably be up late here, even though I have to be to work at 9:00 tomorrow

Things I should be doing? Yeah.

Things I have to do? Not really. I actually work better if I'm dual-tasking.

I remember that my involvement the February spree I was a part of was came as a result of me having failed an online test for a class and just wanting to not think about that fact. So I posted. And posted.

Yes.

I'll forget about homework, do a rush job at it, stay up so late that I have a hard time waking up the next morning, etc.

Jul is a drug

Install website blocker distraction busting plugin.

Don't know what it's called. There are lots of them.

Or you could just edit your HOSTS file to point rustedlogic.net to 127.0.0.1. But that'd be if things got pretty desperate.

I only post if I have nothing better to do. Otherwise, I'll basically just ignore Jul completely. Sometimes for months at a time, even.

No.

I had that problem back when I was highly active on Acmlm's and I told myself that I would never fall into the way I was back then.

I remember homework.

...

By confusing myself into doing it with reverse psychology.

See? This topic just reminded me to casually read up some stuff and appoint something... useful.

Yeah, but are most people going to be un-lazy enough to remember the path to the HOSTS file (it's in something like C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\, I think) and remove it? I think not.

(Of course, I'm mostly speaking on my own lazy behalf here. Laziness > desperation to post on an Internet forum, for me. But then if you're as lazy as me, you're also gonna end up procrastinating whatever it is you need to do by finding other things to do that are easier. Moral of the story: Don't be lazy (Don't say "LAZY"))

You know what, this post sucks. I'm just going to n00b sticker myself for it.

Removing the Ethernet cable might work.

Of course, in my case, this means removing a far away cable--the annoyingness to plug it back in would discourage me a lot faster than an easily edited hosts file.

Jul is causing me to procrastinate right now .

Luckily it's one of those projects that doesn't take very long to finish yet you still don't feel like working on it. At least I hope it's that kind of projects .

That's generally why xKeeper will ban himself, maybe you should take into consideration having that temporarily done if you cannot control your urges.

At least tomorrow I won't be to work until 12:00... so I can spend most of the morning posting here

And, yea... I'm going to be fairly busy for the next month or so in real life, so I won't be on Jul as often
