Originally posted by Exate QWERTY, although there are some minor inconveniences about this particular one; a few keys are resized, which took me a while to adapt. The backspace key on a standard keyboard is usually two standard letter keys in width, as enter/right shift are about two and a half. And the pipe/backslash key is right under backspace, and above enter.
However, with this particular model, the backspace key is the size of a standard key, the pipe/backslash key is right to the left of the backspace, the enter key is huge (with an odd shape, I might add), and the right shift key shrunk to one and a half standard keys in size, with this stupid "turbo" button to its right that doesn't even work. Took me a couple of months to get the hang of it.
Mine is like this, and while it took some adjusting, I don't really mind it. Although I do prefer the larger backspace key/non-huge enter key/out of the way backslash key. It's more convenient for someone who uses backspace a lot like me
It does explain why the rock/paper/scissors emotes in RO are CTRL+dash, CTRL+equals, and CTRL+backslash, though... ____________________ |

I use a Canadian Multilingual QWERTY keyboard. I need to figure out how to make 'Alt Car' actually do stuff... right now it's set to being normal US layout. ____________________ I could probably put something neat in here... |

Yeah, my mom's new laptop has a euro sign printed on one of the keys, but by default in Windows, Alt Graph often does nothing
I think Windows should allow diacritics and such by default regardless of the language, like Mac OS and Linux do.

I hate you for the fact you did not add QWERTZ as an option in that poll.

I mainly use the QWERTY keyboard. I sometimes use a modified version of the QWERTY keyboard when I visit my cousins. Though all it adds is the AltGr and other keys for letter used in Spanish, like «Ð, I still manage to completely get confused on some of the keys. That and the sizes of the Right Shift and Backspace keys became smaller, contributing to my confusion.
I don't get used to new keyboard layouts easily. |

Couple QWERTY keyboards. The thin, wired, numpad version of the aluminum Apple keyboard plugged into my Mac, and then a fairly generic black media keyboard on my PC.
Only thing that bothers me is that the Apple keyboard has the backslash/vertical line key above the Enter/Return key and the PC keyboard has a large Enter key and the |\ key next to the backspace key. The Apple keyboard also has F13-F19 keys. Otherwise they are pretty much the same.

My keyboard layout is 두벌식.
...
Okay, so it's Dubeolsik and QWERTY. I don't use it to type Korean (except to type "enqjftlr" above), so it may as well be a standard United States keyboard. My only issue with it is the compaction of the layout, leaving me without page up or page down keys.
The |\ key is between backspace and +=. I've never understood why there are three different positions for that key. ____________________ |

QWERTY and always QWERTY here, but seeing that this format was designed to have people jump around the keyboard to type the majority of common English words, I think it's time for a new one; after all, the QWERTY format's initial purpose no longer applies to modern keyboards. (Old typewriters would occasionally get jammed when two keys right next to each other were pressed at relatively the same time, hence why the QWERTY format was invented. Of course, it was advertised that it did just the opposite of its real purpose so that it would actually sell, but I digress...)
What would I like, exactly? Either one that just goes in alphabetical order, or one that is designed to have the common letters easy to access with the uncommon ones off to the side would be nice. Of course, I doubt that a change like this will occur any time soon, so, whatever. |

Regular US non-Dvorak (yes, QWERTY) keyboard.
Could you imagine how long it would take for the vast majority of people to adjust to a new keyboard layout? Typos up the wazoo.

I'm so used to QWERTYUIOP that I have a hard time with alphabetical layouts, as on some TI graphing calculators

QWERTZ, living in Germany, on a Cherry Evolution Stream. It has flat keys, like in any notebook, and I don't want to use another keyboard ever again, typing on it is like having my head in the clouds.
As for layouts, some games might be a bit problematic if they have fix keys mapped to Z and X and cannot be changed. It would usually require large distances or even two hands on a non-QWERTY-layout (which is nigh impossible due to using the arrow keys often, too). But a simple Alt + Shift fixes that immediately to switch to an alternate layout with ~Y; even the Japanese IME has an internal QWERTY (which can be quite confusing, if you want to type kana like きょ (kyo), but result in きぞ (kzo, doesn't exist). But time comes, you adapt to that), so there is no real problem.

By the way, I once met a keyboard that was really annoying. Was a perfectly normal AZERTY (yup) keyboard, except the spacebar was split in two bars. One of them was the actual spacebar, the other one was an alternate for backspace
