Was it ever considered to add RSS feeds for the board? Would it be complicated? Ideally there would be one feed for the whole board, one for each sub-forum and one for each thread.

I use Google Reader a lot, and I would love to have jul posts integrated with the rest of my RSS feeds. But then, maybe I'm one of the few here that likes RSS feeds.

Then again, that's partly because we have post reporting on IRC and my "latest posts" page

I would know how to implement it, but having never found RSS useful, would not really spend time making it.

Xkeeper much less so, since he only really deals with important stuff.

Oh well, I didn't expect much anyway, at least I tried

I used to think that RSS was not useful, but obviously my opinion changed. I'm subscribing to a lot of different sites/blogs about tech/video-games/retro stuff, instead of having to visit each of them to see what's new, I can get all the up-to-date feeds aggregated in Google Reader and only read the articles I'm interested in.

Yea... I never used RSS feeds, as I still prefer to visit the sites manually

Anyway, we don't need RSS feeds, since we have a Latest Posts page, IRC post reporting, and not too many people here use RSS feeds, AFAIK...

Yeah, I do things the old-fashioned way, although I often have been using Acmlm's latest posts page Usually, refreshing the main page works fine for me though.

I remember RSS feeds having been added to Acmlm's, and I thought it had something to do with RS (Reinfors Syndrome).

RSS feeds are fine up until the point when you realize you can just stop visiting the site outside of that, meaning that should a topic come up that you might be interested in but otherwise doesn't appear in your RSS feed, you're screwed.

RSS on forums for that reason is a terrible idea, and as you might understand I have zero plans to implement such a feature.

It does seem like RSS for a forum would be unnecessary. And depending on how it were implemented I could see it quickly flooding feeds with posts, especially considering how fast we can post around here. I know it's not going to happen, I just felt like including my opinion.
