If my conversation with Treeki today carries any weight, then these games are pretty much the opposite of what Treeki is looking for, especially BioShock. (Which is a shame, since it's one of my favorite FPSs, but, whatever)

Edit: Oh, I forgot to make my suggestion. You should definitely look into the Mario and Luigi series if you haven't already. Although there is an RPG aspect, you should enjoy it if you liked Paper Mario, and your interest in the Mario series should indicate that the games will be appealing to you.

I've played both SS and PiT. I didn't get that far through SS (I was playing it on an emulator and got bored). I bought PiT but it's extremely hard. I'm stuck battling Bowser and Bowser Jr. in Thwomp Volcano.

He's a rookie, I don't think he truly knows what he's doing with that mention. Probably missed the part about "Any 2D Mario Game".

He also reminds me of someone from another board...but they had a 483 numerical tag and didn't make such short posts. So it's probably just another random person. I hope.

...Golden Sun progress?

DON'T KILL MILLY

Question. Have you NOT played any Kirby game?

Becouse that's what you should play. At least the platformer titles/canvas curse. (And probably you have already, but don't play 64 before Dl3)

Shining Soul is a RPG apparently.. so the same thing as Golden Sun pretty much,

Action RPG, actually... closer to Diablo.

Not as good as Diablo, mind you, but it's not bad.

Would you like to see my .txt files for Shining Soul II?
If I wanted to, I could start up a new game and give myself something like...the Master Bow of Prey Lv5 while giving myself Lv5 Bow skill. Without using any cheat off the internet. I can also change my class / make myself do godlike damage without changing my Strength / lock my stats to 1 at Lv200 with only stat-items to help / give myself any accesory I want (the last accessory I recorded was the #60 Smashdance Robebuster Glitch. Why I called it that I don't know, must've been a heavy robe.) / hopefully something Diablo hacking can't do. I spent some time on this back when I was all over it, all the way to noting that "0200B341 = Pixel light in HP Bar" and stuff. :/
I also fretted for a long time over how to change Speed, never figured that one out. Probably the 03xxxxxx part.

(Still waiting for a progress report for Golden Sun though, Treeki. I am curious.)

DKC 1,2,3 are all good games. I'd give them a try.

See, if you could do map editing and all that... Shining Soul II wouldn't be a bad game at all to overhaul if you had a lot of time on your hands. Basic structure's there.

(And if you are going to play Shining Soul, play II since there's more to do and there's more of a character selection.)

If I knew how to, I would. Problem is, I'm not too sure how to find where the level data's stored outside of corruption and sweeping every area there is. Nor what other kinds of steps I could take towards finding it. Basically clueless. (Although I did find where the graphics were through Tile Molester...and recorded the first graphics to start at 0058ED9C)
Tell you what. You show me exactly what kind of tools and assistance devices I can use to figure out the level data--where it's at, what does it do, that sort of thing...and I'll find as much as I can before the end of the year. That sound like a good deal?
(Sorry to derail the thread with this...)

Following on from this...

I just got an R4. Is there a way to run GBA games on it? I find it really hard to get "into" games on an emulator (I didn't get far in Golden Sun for this reason) so I'd rather be able to play them on my DS.

If not.. any DS game suggestions I can download? I've been missing a lot of games because I haven't been able to get them.

So far I've got:
- Legendary Starfy
- Scribblenauts
- Tetris DS
- Drawn to Life
- Professor Layton 2
- Cooking Mama 1/2/3
- Kirby: Canvas Curse
- Phoenix Wright
- Pokemon Platinum
- Retro Game Challenge
- Zoo Tycoon 2

I own these:
- Mario Kart DS
- Nintendogs
- Super Princess Peach
- New Super Mario Bros
- Super Mario 64 DS
- Professor Layton 1
- Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations
- Mario vs Donkey Kong 2
- Mario Hoops 3-on-3
- Sonic Rush
- Yoshi's Island DS
- WarioWare Touched
- Pokemon Diamond
- Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
- Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training
- Big Brain Academy
- Animal Crossing: Wild World

Hmm... hard to suggest ones that haven't been mentioned already...

Meteos! An action-packed puzzle-game from the mind of Masahiro Sakurai. It's kinda like Tetris Attack mixed with rockets and has lots of cute/cool alien characters.

I also suggest Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. It's not as hard as Partners in Time. However, you should probably finish Partners in Time first.

Also, Sonic Rush Adventure. It's like Sonic Rush, but with new elements thrown in (such as touch-based minigames) that make it more memorable than the first. Who knows, you might like it.

Downloaded all these, and The World Ends With You. I'll try them out later

He was talking about GBA emulation.

You'd need a Slot-2 cart to play GBA games. Too many technical details on why they won't run on a Slot-1.
