Mario took some shrooms and thinks that peach his ex-girlfriend is a princess and that her new boyfriend is a big bad turtle.

Mario is the bad guy all along.

I don't really have any opinions or preferences for the individual Koopalings. All I know is that I like killing them

I used to read Lemmy's Land stuff a lot, and I remember thinking that Ludwig was pretty cool

Probably a lot of people mispronounce his name (it's Lood-vish, not Ludd-wigg).

I've never had to pronounce it, but I think I'd say "Lood-wig".

Yeah, it's German, as in Ludwig von Beethoven The German W is equivalent to the English V, and final -ig is pronounced similar to "ish" (not exactly though) or "ik".

That explains why, I'm not that familiar with German names or the language (Even though my name is German ) so I had no idea how it was supposed to be pronounced. I've heard Beethoven being mentioned before (Also has pretty weird pronounciation compared to how I expected it to be) but not his full name.

Yeah, German is pronounced differently from English

- G is usually pronounced like in "goat" and not in "George", except in -ig and some foreign words like Orange
- Final E is pronounced and given kinda an English "uh" sound (technically a schwa)
- German J sounds like English consonantal Y as in "yes"
- German V sounds like English F in some words and like English V in others

And many more. There are also some vowel sounds (Ö and Ü) that aren't found in English.

Yeah, my name is Jan so it falls under the third one. People always mispronounce it or misspell it People think I'm a girl a lot online because most of my friends call me by it instead of by Treeki.

What country do you live in, Treeki? I assume you're in Europe because of your time zone.

I'm in Gibraltar, directly south of Spain. It's a pretty bad place with slow Internet. I guess there are worse places, but I don't like it much.

Hey, at least you're not in Detroit.
- Very high crime rate; most of the city is completely unsafe after dark and even pretty dangerous during the day
- Very high unemployment rate, even by the standards of this economy. I think it's around 25%.
- Near-complete reliance on 1 industry, the automobile industry, so there aren't many job opportunities for people in many fields.
- Horrible mass transit. Buses only run once an hour usually, on very few roads, and they don't cover much of the metro area at all.
- Very socially conservative. The metro area is almost completely racially and religiously segregated. LGBT individuals are generally despised and attacked. Alternative lifestyles are not tolerated.
- Eminem. 'Nuff said.

Mario games don't generally have much of a plot to them. It's not like Final Fantasy or even Zelda. Mostly, the plot only exists in Mario games as an excuse for the games to exist

That place sounds pretty crappy. Over here not much happens.. which is probably both good and bad. There's virtually no industry here - just local businesses and British and Spanish chain stores.

I pretty much spend all my time on the internet so I don't have to deal with the people here. Probably a good thing.

Have you seen NSMBWii's plot? Not sure if you have, but it's pretty amusing.

Not sure if it'd be considered a spoiler (it's just the intro) but I'm putting it in spoiler tags anyway:

Best intro ever.

I started a thread over in General for us to discuss places we live Remember what happened to the gender thread?

That plot is kinda funny

Yoshi's Island at least has a different plot from most Mario games The Yoshi are trying to unite Mario and Luigi. Also, SMB2 (DDP), but that one is suggested to just be a dream, like with Link's Awakening. At least you can play as Peach in that one

YI's plot was average for me. It's not that bad but it doesn't really add anything to the game.

.. Now that I think about it, what if NSMBWii has cake themed levels? That would be amazing I loved Sweet Sweet Galaxy in SMG.

Now I want this game even more. It sounds pretty cool so far and seems like it's going to be better than NSMB

November 15 can't come fast enough.

Now Treeki you made me impatient
NSMBWii looks sooo great indeed! A real Co-operation mode! I hope I will not be as disappointed as I was with SMG; when they talked about co-operation, I thought about something like Mario and Luigi playing levels together, and no, instead of that, a stupid co-operation mode where the second player just helps the first one getting star bits... apart from this big negative point, the game is awesome when played alone

I don't have anyone to play with so I'm really not interested in the multiplayer/co-op aspect of it. I prefer single player so that's what I'm going to play through.

I think you're on to something there. Maybe Bowser is actually the good guy and he's trying to rescue Peach from the Toads that are keeping Peach hostage, yet the toads' hired goon named Mario always defeats him.

Which is why I'd like a game from Bowser's perspective someday...

Yeah, that would be kinda cool, actually Like how Donkey Kong Jr. basically reversed the roles relative to Donkey Kong
