I always thought they were pretty much the same. I far prefer SMB3's physics though.

Just because I live in the USA doesn't mean I have to follow Noah Webster's spelling reforms

A teacher circled part of a word because I used a British spelling. I happen to like British spellings, thank you very much My vocabulary is usually American though, like I'll type "centre" instead of "center" but use "elevator" instead of "lift".

I'm pretty much the same way; I've got the habit of using words like "elevator" but I'll still use the British spellings. They just sound more natural to me - even though they're the official spellings here. Having to use "Color" for programming drives me crazy

Yeah, when I type colour I pretty much automatically add the u. Typing center in the American way is easier though, as I usually keep the original spelling in a proper name, and the place I work at ends in "Center"

I agree about Center. In addition, sometimes I say "centered" - "centred" just doesn't sound right for some reason.

Some British spellings I pretty much never use are the "oe" ones. Oestrogen, foetus, oesophagus, manoeuvre, etc. The o just looks wrong.
