Lose, 'A lot', and a couple of other words.

It's not my fault!

Do you have that one word or words that you keep messing up?

Do you hate it when people correct your spelling?

I made this thread due to the obvious posts not by anger. But it just came to my mind and I thought it would be such a CARAZY topic to discuss upon. I have a ton of words that are just ran into the ground, however I always spell it wrong.

I don't hate it when people correct my spelling (Personally, I think it's kinda dumb. To a certain extent). It's sometimes funny and all, but... pfft, fart on it. I should not dwell too much into that.

Whenever I see that code that makes a red line appear under the incorrect spelling I always imagine Firefox.

Becasue, becuase, beacuse, beacsue...

And also some very illogical typos involving keys not even close to each other Like "forning" for "morning" on a paper I turned in.

I don't have a problem with people correcting my spelling

I fixed most of my "usual" spelling/grammar mistakes which I'd always make several years ago (it's/its, seperate, etc) so I tend to type pretty well most of the time.

The only thing which I will do on purpose is avoid "___ and I" - I know it's correct, but I hate using it for some reason; I'm not sure why.

I sometimes want to put an extra G on the end of words that end with "-on" -- pythong, athlong, etc.

I was never sure why I do this, exactly.

Other than that, I tend to sometimes run words together if I am in a hurry, especially if a word ends with the same letter that the next word begins with. "Thegg" (instead of "the egg") is one of my favorite typos due to this. It became my nickname for a while in high school because the place in which I happened to make the mistake was in a PowerPoint presentation for a science class.

Sometimes, this construct is actually misused

"Bloodstar and I have played Zelda Classic" - Correct
"Colin gave JCS points to Anya and I" - Incorrect

Basically, you test this by removing the other person and the "and":

"I have played Zelda Classic" - Sounds right
"Colin gave JCS points to I" - Sounds wrong

"Anyways". But that's actually intenional...

Also I can't stand when people frequently mispell a word becouse I end up getting confused about it. I mean I heard the above one more often than its proper form and now I got it stuck forever.

I find that I make a lot of typos often, it's usually when I press a key adjacent to the key that I wanted to press (quipe -> quote) (or when I press the enter button, common with IM clients), or a letter that I missed in the word ( ajacent -> adjacent).

Other times I end up having a Freudian slip, such as:

<@Index> at the caf, we have:
[...]
<@Index> milk (2%)
<@Index> chocolate miku
<@K__> We've got sodas and stuff to--
<@K__> Nice freudian slip.

I used to constantly spell until "untill" and with "whith" Later, it was separate as "seperate" and Kindergarten as "kindergarden".

XD

Nice irony, Reimu.

I usually switch letters around by accident. I also have trouble using 'd'.

Yeah, it's just Grammar Karma[. I still love that, even though it was my own fail.

The letter s tends to sneak ahead of o and u in words when I type them as well, like msot, jsut, and psot.

Mostly it's just freudian slips, although I tend to add g to letters ending with n.

Is "becouse" inten(t)ional too? I always notice that

I can't think of a common mistake I make, but I do correct myself (typos, wrong words, etc.) pretty often

Oh yeah, this too! I've typoed "Python" as "Pythong" so many times.

Letters appearing out of nowhere, switched letters, missing letters, changed letters, and a few more simple mistakes.

They're not confined to certain words either. I mess up a lot more with a smaller keyboard.

I just learned something new with this post.

So yeah, I'm still really bad at english, even getting "a" and "an" mixed up.

Yeah, I should probably learn those sometime.

For some reason, I almost spell apparently as "apparantly" almost every time I type it. I used to be bad with spelling tomorrow as "tommorrow", but not so much anymore.

A lot of times with words like -able/-ible or -ly/-ally. There's no logical way to determine these other than memorization. D:
