Nighttime boredom sucks and it's interesting to see where these go

Makes me wonder how often they've been spammed with completely insignifiant error reports ...

Things like:
- Make a program that crashes by purpose (what can they do about that)
- Hex edit one of Windows's files and cause a crash (they'd have fun trying to figure that out)
- A valid crash, but from an older version they already fixed (waste of time)

I've never bothered with error reporting myself, I'd rather see the error message from NT 4 (and still there in Vista) showing the instruction and bad read/write addresses

I always wondered why it's always to Microsoft, even for software not made by Microsoft

And for quite a while, I thought that the song "Smooth Operator" was "Smooth Doppler Radar"

I never even understood what this does. Does MS just keep a log of all of them and the programs or something? It seems like it'd be far too much effort for them to use and maintain, especially for non-MS apps. And it looks like Vista/7 doesn't even have it any more.

And I thought it was really out of place when it was something like an NES emulator or a ROM hacking tool doing that I don't really want MS to know that I'm into ROMs.

I just imagined Miyamoto breaking into Microsoft's headquarters to go and look up their error log database and see if anyone was using any of said tools.

(Wouldn't it be easier for Nintendo/MS/whatever to just go after the people who make the tools and distribute the ROMs? )

"A horrible person". That's what it says. "A horrible person."

We weren't even testing for that.

I just turned off that send blah blah. It now just tells me the application went boom and gives me a close button.

Yeah, I turn off a lot of things in Windows I can't stand using a computer with default settings because I'm so used to my carefully-tweaked computers.

Vista replaced it with "_____ has stopped working", but rename/delete WerFault.exe and that'll change back to the old one with the crash addresses (as a bonus, any program crashing no longer starts a new process)

And yeah, as much as I still like XP (over Vista), I couldn't live with its default settings, also known as Fisher-Price edition
