Good. You don't want to be sucked in.

I've been trapped in TVTropes for hours before, with hundreds of tabs open. It's a horrible thing.

I thought so at first too, until she told me (even had some guy's picture in the photo album for a while, which didn't help either)

I forgot how many transsexuals the old board had, I remember at least 3 or 4 (now one more with you) ... and I didn't even know that existed until then

I think I had vaguely heard of others' transsexuality before Acmlm's, but I never actually knew another one until I went to Acmlm's

That kind of thing isn't even remotely common in Michigan, especially in the rural area where I grew up.

Strangely, even though I live in a pretty democratic/liberal suburb, I only saw one guy who was probably metrosexual my whole life, then the moment I hit college, 3 confirmed LGBTs, including Terra. I'm actually still somewhat reeling over this suddenness, but then again my high school had a high percentage of Catholics and plain ol' jerks.

Wait, you know Terra IRL, or am I missing something? *confused*

Oh right.

I know a LOT of LGBT people because they're extremely common on Furcadia. It seems like most of the people you see are gay or bisexual. I remember once a bunch of people being amazed over seeing a straight guy. That's how bad it is there. (On the upside though, there's no problem with getting accepted there, which is good for me..)

Yeah, I've known a lot from Acmlm's and Jul, actually As I've said, most of Michigan doesn't generally tolerate LGBT individuals except in a few areas

In fact, I used to be quite homophobic just picking up the attitudes from school and such, until I went to Acmlm's and met some LGBT individuals.

Ironically enough I used to be somewhat homophobic as well. I got over it though. It's pretty retarded. I don't really have to deal with homophobes here.. because I don't know or have to talk to anyone IRL. I'm not sure how they'd react though.

I'd be surprised if Ann Arbor didn't. They seem to be hippie liberalish types.

My exposure to the Internet at a young age means I've met a lot of LGBT type people over the years. I've known a ton of gay/bi/lesbian people and even a couple of transsexuals. Of course, I've never known any in real life, but then sexuality isn't a subject that comes up often in conversation IRL, not to mention I'm not that social to begin with...

I've always been tolerant of gay people and lesbians--I can't remember having a single homophobic thought in my life. Even when I first learned what they were (from The Simpsons, of all things, and my parents ended up explaining them to me afterwards), I was just like "oh, well, they seem like nice people and I don't think any differently of them than I would of straight people"--same with transsexuals later on. It's always seemed irrational to me to hate people just because they might be attracted to a different gender than you.

I've never thought about hating people over it, but I used to think homosexuality was pretty stupid/irrational for some reason. Although that was a pretty long time ago - I guess that was my 11 year old self being retarded and hating it when I didn't really understand it.

I'm surprised my name never came up in this thread.

A lot of people have been confused by me, especially recently.

I was never confused about you - I guess it's because you were Tyty when I joined and I've always known Teyla was you and that you were male.
