So have you ever seen a member who you've always thought was a specific gender and later found out they were the opposite?

I used to think Lunamon was a guy. Later on I found out it was a girl and got really confused. I mentioned it in IRC and Tanks said Terra was a guy.. so double mindfuck.

I never thought you were a girl, especially since I saw your picture in the Jul Faces thread.

I always thought Colin was a guy. Same with the Touhou people.

I'm not a fan of gender confusion. To this day some people are vehemently convinced that I'm a guy. I really don't see what the big deal is.

I mean, so be it. I've realized that people, as a general rule, are stupid or want to take advantage of me before they're "truly convinced." Those people don't matter.

OK, I'm a male-to-female transsexual, which basically means that I was born with male genitals but a female brain You may read about it here.

As a kid I tended to like girl stuff like dolls and dresses and whatnot, but my parents tried to steer me into male interests, so now I have a peculiar combination of interests Then, I was in deep denial as a teen and identified as male at Acmlm's I started thinking maybe I was trans in 2004 or so, then came out online in summer of 2008. I'm not out IRL though, so if someone sees me they just think I'm male although I do look rather girly already After I leave Michigan, I plan to start on hormones to make me look even more female and eventually get surgery to fix my, uh, stuff.

Terra: Huh. Interesting. I actually know someone who is a (male-to-female) transsexual; she is a family friend. In fact, she even teaches at my university, and I may very well end up taking a class from her.

Hmm, as far as other gender confusion goes, I don't know. I've certainly never been mistaken for a girl in real life, although I might have a few times online just because of my username. At least I've always kept it blue all this time, unlike somebody I know who has a pink name even though he's a guy. He's been mistaken for a girl so many times, he actually put some info in his profile to clear it up.

Also, my brother and his best friend have been mistaken for a gay couple a few times, which I actually find amusing. (I'm not allowed to make jokes about it, though.) My brother may, among other things, dance ballet (and seriously, we need more male dancers in the world! Anyone up for it? But I digress...), but I can't imagine he's actually gay. Considering how many girls flirt with him, he'd have to be bisexual at the very least, and I don't believe he is.
