Yeah, it was stressful. I had to move out for several reasons:
1- I am sick of my dad's bullshit. He would always yell at me for not doing something he never told me to do. And would always say that I was in charge of doing some random bullshit thing that does not even exist. Needless to say, he would complain about nothing, and blame everything on me.
2- The house in general: Sure it's a nice house and everything. But it's so ridiculous on how much things that goes on that I do not like. Every morning I expect the phone lines be clear in case my boss calls me. However I am always getting on the phone asking if they can keep the lines clear for me in case my boss does call. I can guarantee 80% of the time my boss tells me he never picks me up because the phone is busy. There is much more too it, but that is what pisses me off the most.
3- Could not grow. I had to pay some killer bills to live there. However due to the hours: I could not pay my way on the rent anymore. Mainly because my dad was huffing and pufing at me saying "You have to do something", well, while he was gone, I decided to move out. No goodbye or anything.
All and all, I am glad I moved out. Right now I am enjoying a nice beer and basically trying to get rid of my stress. I got everything in boxes (Wireless internet is gonna be a problem for this house), and all I have to do is buy groceries and hope I get enough hours of work to pay for the rent.
So yeah, anyone had a stressful move at some point?
Congratulations, Bitmap Hopefully things go well for you at your new place
I turned 18 on 19th July 2005, and I left my parents' house permanently on 28th August 2005, so obviously I didn't really want to live there
I've had the reverse situation more recently though. My dad moved back in with me a year or so later. It started out fine, but over time there was more and more friction between us, eventually reaching a point where he suggested that I die He'd temporarily keep guns at my apartment and such for his re-enactments. I was so relieved when he finally moved out several months later.
Moved out when I was 19. Been in several different apartments since then. Finally thought we had a nice place and things were good...turns out we might have to move again because it's so expensive. I will be in the area and we do have six months to decide this.
One of the moves had to be done in 24 hours. That was pretty rough physically and mentally.

Finally moved out I see. I'm glad you did bro, cause things over there really weren't going good. I was wondering about you Friday and was hoping everything went well. Should call me up when you can man.
don't feel to stressed, moving can be a pain sometime. Like that time I went to live in Atlanta. That move was a pain in the rear end.

I was thinking of getting together several friends and renting an apartment together somewhere closer to the community college. An hour roundtrip can be a bit stressful, especially when the class you're going to is either 50 minutes long, or ends ridiculously early. Never got around to it, but I'm okay with that. I probably wouldn't have been able to pay rent or get a job for that matter, and living is still free with my parents. They even pay a bit of survival money for me to stay.
My dad commuted for around 2 hours for years He worked in metro Detroit but my parents insisted on living way the hell out in the country for some reason
I'm thanking God that my home life is really easy going for the most part. My parents divorced in May, and my mother and I are living in an apartment. I'm paying $200 a month, but it's not so bad. I doubt I'll be moving out anytime soon, I barely get any spending money as is. :/
I'm glad you're going to be better off where you are, and I really hope that you make it.

I've moved more times than I can count, and it's always stressful, but (at least for me) more worthwhile than living with my family. independence is great. it sucks that you have to put up with so much frustration, but it'll all work out. you'll be happier for it.
I lived on campus for the first 8 months or so Basically, people would party loudly well into the night when I was trying to sleep. And they expected us to keep our doors open Liek WTF?
