As in games that you've played and destroyed/beat the hell out of.

Hopefully that explains it well enough. I never felt like tearing a game up, so I never figured out why people wanted to do it. Disappointed? Well...:/

My Below the Root disk for C64 got pretty beat-up, but it still played into the 2000s

I don't usually let loose game frustration by physically destroying stuff though

The challenge of it, maybe?

There's only a few that after playing through once, that I wanted to go back and wreak the hell out of it.

Final Fantasy X
Mass Effect
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

Wait, do you mean actually breaking the game? As in physically? Are you nuts?!

Wait, I thought you liked FF10, Anya

I would often treat games poorly though. Like not putting them in the dust sleeve as per the instructions, but I think a lot of people did that.

If you mean physically destroying it, none ever.

But...

I can beat Yoshi's Island 100% in one sitting.
I got 120 stars as Mario in Super Mario Galaxy on my first playthrough in less than 48 hours.

FFX: Over 170 hours played. Full sphere grid.

Oblivion: All achievements.

Mass Effect: Same as above.

Sorry, Anya, I don't think your post had gone through by the time I clicked New Reply

OK, for the actual intent of the thread:
- After a while, I'd avoid warping in SMB3 and I would beat every level instead of skipping them.
- I'd try to get 100% in Kirby's Adventure
- I can't seem to beat Zelda games without trying to get every unique item and such, with some exceptions like all those Oracles rings

Oh yeah, I forgot I can 100% Kirby's Adventure, too, but that's not as tough as YI.

Oh, and 100% of Kirby Air Ride's three grids.

How could I forget about Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic?

I can play that game now and select what to say even before the conversation is over.

Well, that's what it seemed to mean. Not enough info?
If you're talking about the game's inner workings, that's different--but still doesn't apply as far as I am concerned about myself. Sure, I can easily beat it, but I probably judge myself on a different standard than other people do.

...although when I still had the save data, I could rip though all of Castlevania PoR's Hard Lv1 mode like it wasn't even my business to do so. But I'm sure many people have done that already. Also all boss medals for OoE at least twice. Not sure what else to say about.

Edit: My definition of Destroyed is not making 100%. Must be why I didn't have much to choose from. 100% games, I have...Kirby Squeak Squad, New Super Mario Bros., The Legendary Starfy, all the DS Castlevania games, the first and third GBA Castlevanias (working on the second one), Both GBA Kirby games, don't remember if I ever 100-ed Metroid Fusion (someone else beat it when I lent it to them I know that), Wario Land 4, uhh...I know I did more than that. Or is that really it? Hm. Call me a game that I can play without buying it (downloads possible) and I will see what I can do.

I haven't really done that with much of my games. Some of the few would include:

- Getting 100% multiple times in every Kirby game, except for Kirby's Air Ride since I traded it in before I got a chance to finish it.

- Beaten most of the Mario platformers 100%/beating all levels on my very first playthough.

RPGs I can never finish, but if it's good, I'll play it a lot, like Disgaea with my 180+ hour save file.

(and a few others like that, but tool-assisted play doesn't really count, does it? )

I'd say NIS since I got into late postgame in every game in the series, but it's pretty much impossible to max out everything in those

But a few more other than that:
- Super Punch Out: I beat all opponents in under 20 seconds (some under 10)
- Bubsy: I once managed to get 80 lives and finish the game with about 65
- Dragon Warrior 1: not only for beating it in 18 minutes tool-assisted, of course

(and none physically either)

Another thing I sometimes try is a no-game-over run, especially with Zelda. I completed my first such run of Zelda II only recently In fact, with games like LTTP, I often will start the whole game over or give up if I get a game over

I don't bother with speedruns. They're impressive, but they're not really my style of play.

I thought you were going to say physically destroyed as I've lit a cartridge on fire. Tetris DS is the only game that comes to mind...though also most of the earlier gen Pokemon games (really anything before Emerald, since I got a little bit less serious by then) I've not only cleared but raised full teams and pretty much exhausted most game play mechanics

Sonic Adventure 2: I took me over 120 hours although I eventually beat it 100% (a lot of that time was used for raising chao or doing other things though)

Wario Land Games: There isn't a Wario Land game out there that I haven't beaten 100% .

Mario Party 2: I used to play this game all of the time when i was a kid (it's still my favorite Mario Party). Even after I achieved 100% I still frequently played against the computer just for fun .

Megaman Battle Network 2, 3, & 6: I have over 100 hours clocked on each of these games even though none of them are beaten 100% yet (only the extremely ridiculous challenges are left ).

Startropics: Even though the game is extremely linear that didn't stop me from beating it at least 20 times when I was a kid. I still do frequent play throughs of it .

There are probably a whole bunch of other games that I'm forgetting about but it's 12:45AM and I'm almost falling asleep at my desk .

Metroid Prime: 3 hours, 15 minutes, 50-something percent. If that's not beating the hell out of it I don't know what is.

VIDEO IS BLUE AND BLUE ON THE THING

I don't understand the meaning of "destroy" here, but I guess all apply:

WTF?!?!?!

Kirby's Adventure would be a more accurate example, though. But I had to post that last screenshot.

Now on what seems to be the actual purpose of the thread, I can 100% speedrun extra mode using exclusively any ability (with exceptions for specific puzzles or when the nature of the ability makes it impossible to continue), getting all 1ups and other extra items, as well as visiting every room, and if I feel like it killing all enemies at least once as well as destroying all of the foreground that can be destroyed.
However I can't beat it without dying. In fact I will intentionally die at two spots (1-3 to do a glitch, 5-1 by getting stone ability and using it in the huge fall that ends with breakable blocks) and most likely at a third (2-3 messing around with the UFO).
