I'll keep the weirdest crap sometimes. Like old receipts, cards, pieces of paper with vague story notes on them, etc. I actually threw a bunch of stuff out a few months ago.

It looks more like this:

pack·rat ['pæk.ræt] n. 1. Terra of Jul.

pack·rat ['pæk.ræt] n. 2. Bob-omb8194 of Jul.

I fit that definition very well. I used to keep everything, from childhood stuff to pure garbage. (Childhood stuff that is important to me doesn't count, I ment stuff I was too old for that didn't mean as much.) It finally got better, but I still keep more than the average person.

I still have most of my computer stuff from back to 1998, and only missing half of the rest (1992-1998) from a hard drive crash, and I still wish I had a way to get that back

I still have my old Macintosh (dead since 2001) and Pentium 200MHz (still working but rarely used), even after my parents wanted to throw them out ...

Also a few computer magazines (but not all) from 1993, many things I printed over 10 years ago, lots of floppies (and old CD's), a lot of my school stuff from back to high school (1994-1999), even some from primary school, hundreds of pages of things I drew in 1987-1988 (age 3 to 5), my old plushy from around that time, and more random crap from 10-20 years ago I might have forgotten about

Short answer: yes

Hell yeah. I have all sorts of useless crap that I still keep because I don't want to throw them away. And the things I want to actually give away/sell my mom won't let me. Seriously mom, by the time the shelves for my massive ass Beanie Baby collection are done, there's going to be an exorbitant amount of bugs inside them! I don't even want the ones I stuffed in those boxes anymore!

My mom has an ooooold Chicago Bulls shirt with Snoopy on it. It was purchased when we visited my uncle in ... Chicago. He was on a navy base there. He's in Jacksonville, Florida now, though. It's from when she used to weigh a lot more, so now she uses it sometimes as a long shirt to sleep in.

I collect old video games, there's no way that I will be getting rid of them any time soon (or ever ). I also have about 40 Nintendo Power magazines from the years 2004 - 2007 (And even the 1st anniversary issue that my parents bought before I was even born ). I also have a whole bunch of things from my childhood (books, toys, etc) stashed away in a box somewhere in the basement .

I'm sure I can find some mid-90's magazines in my closet if I dug deep... I know I have NP #50 for sure.

I think my parents threw a lot of my old stuff out when I moved out. They kept some notebooks from like 1991-1992 though

I do have some random things but I only really keep stuff that might be useful. I tend not to get stuff that wouldn't be useful, though. As fr as intangible, emotional attachments to useless crap, this doesn't happen.

I have a Super Mario Sunshine t-shirt that's full of holes and about three sizes too small for me, and I still have it.

Ah yes. I should say, I am a natural data hoarder. Let's just say those files from 1994 I still have aren't getting any younger, or those IRC logs from the year 2003.

My parents hate me for this. The desk in my room is always covered in papers, I still have my old school books from kindergarten and I even try not to rip wrapping paper in case I'd want to reuse it later.

I have a whole bookshelf of stuff that I keep for memories. Interesting things:
- a broken car window piece;
- a picture of my 2nd grade class;
- an unopened Mario energy drink;
- every school novel from the last four years;
- a broken ship-in-a-bottle (from a close friend who left the school at the beginning of 2009... it's the only thing I'll remember her by. )

Couple this with mindsets to only use what I need ("I have a phone that plays music, why give me an iPod?") and to keep things in case they're useful and you get a lot of old, unused stuff.
