 | This is fucking weird.
My desktop likes to BSOD whenever I disconnect from AOL, using the AOL dialer. It's one of those Zoom USB modems (my internal's super flaky), which I purchased with my laptop in June. It's pretty puzzling, seeing as I've never had any BSODs until I installed the modem today.
By now, I'm actually pretty sick of it and considering using my Vista laptop as my primary machine.
Other than drivers (which I'll look for updates for tomorrow, I can't at the moment)... does anyone have any idea as to what may be causing this? Said issue is actually making me worry about installing the modem's Linux drivers, because I've been pretty infamous for breaking Ubuntu when trying to get things like this working.
...and if you say it's the fact that I'm using AOL I will fucking rip your throat out. I don't have a choice because my mother refuses to pay three dollars more per month for Verizon's DSL. :/
e: I found the model number: "Model 3095". I'm able to look for updated drivers now.

 | | Honestly it's either the modem drivers, something on your system died/corrupted/etc (unlikely), or AOL doesn't work with the modem properly, in which case there's little you can do about it. I'm leaning towards it being just bad drivers, though. Any information from the BSOD?

It vanishes far too quickly for me to be able to tell what the error was. Is there a dump created when the BSOD occurs?

No error code at the top. Weird. It's actually creepy as fuck having this blue screen staring at me.

Your modem's driver is written by monkeys. Not much you can do about it other than see if there's an update available.

 | I can't seem to find anything related to said driver on the site. It was a Zoom Model 3095 USB modem that had said drivers, if it matters.
There's a PCI modem in my computer as well, but when using it, my connection randomly terminates. I don't have this problem on any of my other computers, nor does the issue occur with the USB modem.
I'm about to just use my laptop as my main computer, at this rate.

 | Also, Explorer was crashing a lot too with the new drivers! Cool.
But when Dr. Watson crashed, I had it. Fucking System Restored to a point before the drivers.
Now I just have to deal with the random disconnects... but at least my system's stable again.
