In honour of the year the Magnavox Odyssey came out
Do you enjoy any games for consoles before the NES and the North American video game crash? Stuff like Atari 2600, Odyssey2, and so on.
My parents had an Atari 2600, and I thought it had a lot of fun games Mostly old-style shooters based on arcade games and such, although we also had the infamous Pac-Man and E.T. for the system. I actually didn't think the Pac-Man was so bad It's not as good as the C64 Ms. Pac-Man cart I had, but it wasn't horrible like E.T. was.
My dad also had an Intellivision (which seems to have vanished), and my mom had an Odyssey2 (which she hooked up in 2007-ish just for kicks. I mostly remember a game like Pac-Man but with moving dots and a driving game.) We also had a Commodore 64, which had a lot of games although it was actually a computer I think the C64 was actually the system on which I played my first ever video game.
I never was able to get much into Pong, but I can understand people from the '70s liking it The original 1972 Odyssey (not the Odyssey2) seemed more like a weird novelty system to me. Overlays, no score, no rules, all kinds of physical objects required It was an achievement for its time, but it didn't age well.
Other than that, I have a Gamecube game that's essentially an anthology of Intellivision games. Some are pretty awesome, but only after figuring out the control layout.
I believe one of those games had music based on classical pieces. Thunder Castle, I think it was. That was awesome.

There's a lot of good stuff on the C64. Probably because there were an insane number of games made for it and most were crap, but that still means a lot of it is decent. Some games even have American/European versions since two different ports were made for two different markets.
I actually have a bunch of C64 games that I typed from magazines I thought that was pretty cool being able to enter BASIC code and get a game or other program, although bug testing would get annoying.

And the fact some of them would taking freaking FOREVER to input in.
I've seen magazines with pages and pages devoted to programs. :\ At least they might be good for learning simple BASIC...
